Our weekly Wednesday Salute proudly honors Northridge alumni veteran ๐‹๐ˆ๐’๐€ ๐‡๐ˆ๐‚๐Š๐’๐Ž๐ ๐Œ๐”๐๐‚๐˜, Northridge High School Class of 1984.

Following graduation, Lisa honorably served our country in the United States Navy. She served on three different ships and one shore unit during her time in the Navy.

We are deeply grateful for Lisaโ€™s commitment to our nation, her dedicated military service, and the sacrifices she made in defense of our freedoms.

Thank you, Lisa, for serving with honor, courage, and pride. Your service and dedication are sincerely appreciated and will always be remembered.

We are only a few days away from Drew Ogletree's Community Fun Day taking place this Saturday, June 20th from 10:00 to 2:00. There will be a car show at the event too!

We are so thankful that Drew, Northridge alumni and member of the NFL's Indianapolis Colts, is putting on this event for the community!

The event is taking place in the parking lot in front of the Northridge Football Stadium and right by the Northridge Alumni Veterans Memorial !

Members of the memorial committee will be on hand to answer any questions you have about the memorial and show you all the details on our upcoming expansion plans!

Happy 251st Birthday to the United States Army!

On June 14, 1775, the Continental Congress established the Continental Army, laying the foundation for what would become the United States Army. For 251 years, Army soldiers have answered the call to serve, defending our nation with courage, dedication, and sacrifice.

Today, we honor all those who have worn the Army uniformโ€”past and presentโ€”and especially remember the countless veterans who have protected the freedoms we enjoy every day.

Our fundraising efforts are in full swing to expand the Northridge Alumni Veterans Memorial ! Thanks to the generosity of so many supporters, we are now only $๐Ÿ•,๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ–๐Ÿ–.๐Ÿ“๐ŸŽ ๐š๐ฐ๐š๐ฒ ๐Ÿ๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ ๐ซ๐ž๐š๐œ๐ก๐ข๐ง๐  ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ $๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽ,๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ ๐ ๐จ๐š๐ฅ!

The ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ก๐ซ๐ข๐๐ ๐ž ๐€๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ง๐ข ๐•๐ž๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐š๐ง๐ฌ ๐Œ๐ž๐ฆ๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐š๐ฅ has reached full capacity, and we have run out of room to engrave names. We currently have ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ก๐ซ๐ข๐๐ ๐ž ๐š๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ง๐ข ๐ฏ๐ž๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐š๐ง๐ฌ ๐ฐ๐ก๐จ ๐ก๐š๐ฏ๐ž ๐ฉ๐š๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ž๐ ๐š๐ฐ๐š๐ฒ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐š๐ซ๐ž ๐ฐ๐š๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ญ๐จ ๐›๐ž ๐ก๐จ๐ง๐จ๐ซ๐ž๐, but we no longer have available memorial space for their names.

Plans are underway to ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐›๐ฅ๐ž ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ฌ๐ข๐ณ๐ž ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ฆ๐ž๐ฆ๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐š๐ฅ. The new section will be located just south of the current site and will include a new concrete foundation, fence adjustments and additions, and a large black granite monument to provide space for future generations of Northridge veterans.

In addition, we have applied to the ๐Ž๐ก๐ข๐จ ๐‡๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐œ๐š๐ฅ ๐’๐จ๐œ๐ข๐ž๐ญ๐ฒ for a historical marker honoring Northridge Class of 1966 ๐Œ๐ž๐๐š๐ฅ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐‡๐จ๐ง๐จ๐ซ ๐ซ๐ž๐œ๐ข๐ฉ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐‰๐จ๐ฌ๐ž๐ฉ๐ก ๐†๐ฎ๐ฒ ๐‹๐š๐๐จ๐ข๐ง๐ญ๐ž, ๐‰๐ซ. If selected, the marker would be installed in early 2027โ€”another important reason to move forward with the memorial expansion now.
