In my role as the Awareness and Outreach Specialist at CARE House, I see firsthand how vital it is for adults to stay educated about the digital world. The post below from Darkness to Light highlights a critical reality: as technology evolves, so do the ways children are being targeted. Understanding CSAM—including the newer threats like AI-generated content—is the first step toward effective prevention. I am proud to serve as a facilitator for Darkness to Light’s training programs, and I am currently scheduling sessions for those who want to learn how to better protect the children in our community. Our snack shelf is beginning to look a little empty, and we are reaching out to our great community for a helping hand! At CARE House, we strive to provide a welcoming and comfortable environment for the children and families we serve, and small donations of bottled water, juice boxes, and individually wrapped snacks go a long way in offering much-needed comfort during their visits. We also welcome in-person donations at our office, located at 410 Valley Street, Dayton, OH 45404, between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on weekdays. Headline: A Heartfelt Thank You to the Davis Family! 💙

At CARE House, our mission is to provide a safe, supportive environment for children and families when they need it most. Today, we want to extend a massive thank you to the Davis family for their incredibly generous donation made in honor of Angelo’s Wish.

Their thoughtful gift included a wonderful assortment of items that will make a world of difference for the families we serve. From snacks and drinks to help keep parents and kids fueled, to crayons, fidget toys, squishes, and stuffed animals to bring comfort and joy during difficult visits—every single item will be put to great use.

CARE House would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the Mother of God Family of Parishes / Social Action Committee for their incredibly generous donation of snacks, drinks, games, and stuffed animals to our child advocacy center. Your thoughtful gifts have instantly brightened our space, providing comforting treats and fun activities that help create a safe, welcoming environment for the children we serve. April 1 – Child Abuse Prevention Month

At CARE House we believe every child deserves a safe, nurturing environment. To help families, schools, churches, sports teams and any organization that works with youth, we’re proud to offer Darkness to Light’s Stewards of Children® – a research‑backed, 2½‑hour training (available online or in‑person) that teaches adults how to prevent, recognize, and responsibly respond to child sexual abuse. Through expert interviews, survivor stories, and five concrete steps, participants leave equipped to protect the children in their care.
