The Dayton Celebration Chorus is an adult community chorus that serves the city of Dayton and the Miami Valley region. Open to all interested adult singers, the Chorus sings a diverse repertoire of both sacred and secular choral literature, with an emphasis on American music. Founded in 2003 as the Schuster Center Celebration Choir, the organization was first sponsored by the Victoria Theatre Association. In 2014 the group affiliated with the University of Dayton Office of Special Programs and Continuing Education. Our performance venues have included the Schuster Center for the Performing Arts, Courthouse Square Grand Illumination, Kroc Center, Dayton Art Institute, Victoria Theatre, The Greene, UD Arena, Fifth Third Field, and various churches and retirement communities. Chorus members have enjoyed performance opportunities with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra’s Holiday Festival Community Chorus, the UD New Horizons Band, the Miami Valley Symphony, and various guest artists and conductors. DCC has been selected annually to sing the National Anthem for the Dayton Dragons at Fifth Third Field.

Our theme for this session is Joy! Come share the joy by singing with us this fall.

Rehearsals for our fall session starts next Tuesday, September 22, 2026. We have a full slate for this session! We have two Veteran's Day engagements, one for a senior center and one with a New Horizons Band AND the UD Student Chorale!

Our Holiday engagements include a concert at the Roger Glass Center with the Miami Valley Chorale and some surprise musicians. Additionally, we will perform at two senior centers, and we will have a Joy and Caroling concert at St. John's Lutheran Church which includes our traditional after-concert reception. And we hope to be Caroling in Downtown Dayton and in the The Oregon District in December.

We will have ten regular rehearsals at St. John's Lutheran Church at 141 S Ludlow St, Dayton, OH on Tuesdays 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. We will not rehearse on Nov 3, 2026 which is election day.

A few notes on registration. UD implemented a new registration system last spring. I list the new procedures implemented in case you were not with us for our last sessions. Registration for this session closes on Oct 2, the Friday after our second rehearsal. There is a fee to submit payment with a check. If you do not wish to register online, call Office of Special Programs and Continuing Education and they will help you register. You may also stop by the office; call first to ensure they are available.

Registration is open now for Dayton Celebration Chorus' Summer Session!

SUMMER SESSION REGISTRATION
The SUMMER SESSION will begin on July 14, 2026 and end on August 18, 2026. This is a 6-rehearsal session on Tuesday evenings from 7pm - 830pm at St. John's Lutheran Church at 141 S Ludlow St in Downtown Dayton.

The Registration Fee for Summer is $35.

Paper registration forms will also be available when the choir meets on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. Park in the rear of the St. John's Lutheran Church and enter the back door. We will be just inside the door!

If you don't get a chance to make it to our May 5 Spring Concert at the Roger Glass Center for the Arts at UD at 7pm, here is another opportunity to attend the concert on Sunday, May 9 at St. John's Lutheran Church at the corner of Ludlow and W Fifth Streets in Downtown Dayton (diagonally across the intersection from the Spaghetti Warehouse.)
