MHM is a Christian ministry that helps single moms and children going through crises and homelessness.

Our ministry is dedicated to helping moms meet their goals and save toward transitioning to independent living.

What do we do here at Magnolia House Ministries and how can you support the ministry?

Our main goal is keeping families together and children out of the foster care system. In NC and VA alone, there are roughly 20,000 children needing homes.

We encourage our families here to further their education while affording them the opportunity to keep their babies and children in their care. We also equip our moms with skills in developing their own side business that will help sustain them when they transition out of the program. We develop their natural gifting into skills that can be used to volunteer their talents and even develop into a business model.
Our focus here at Magnolia House is development that leads to sustainability.

How you can help? Would you or your group consider supporting one of our families? This would involve $250/month, committing to pray for the family and the option to send encouragement cards during their time in our program.

Eva is trying out the acoustics in her new home. Eva, my heart is overflowing hearing your beautiful voice singing praises to the Lord. He will keep opening opportunities for you to use your natural gifts and talents. You’ve been on a long journey, completely changing your life. As I always say, slow and steady with consistent progress. You’ve gone from surviving and not knowing where to turn with a young infant to thriving! I can only imagine how the celebrations are in Heaven when here on earth the joy that swells within my heart feels as though it’s going to burst. This ministry is not for the faint of heart, you’ve witnessed the struggles first hand, but through guidance, application and perseverance, it pays off. ❤️

It’s been a blessing to witness the spiritual growth in this sweet mom since she’s been in our program. Her daughter was just a small infant and now she sings praise music along with her mom. Eva has one of the most beautiful voices I’ve heard, she recently made the worship team at her church. She loves to share her testimony with those around her, she recently gave her testimony at a city wide event. Eva has worked in childcare for many years, she is an amazing teacher and naturally gifted with children. Along with moving into her new home, she’ll also be opening up her in home daycare soon. She named it after our ministry name as this opportunity and time with us has meant so much to her. Congratulations, Eva! ❤️

This past Sunday at church I sat behind one of our past moms at Magnolia House. I looked down at her bible that told me a story all on its own. A story I’m well familiar with. The comfort only the word can give when the only prayers you can mutter are, “Lord, help me.” The tears that fell on the pages as you’re seeking the strength to get through one more day. The blessed assurance in remaining faithful through abandonment. The loneliness that seems unbearable when you’re reading verse and verse about the love the Lord has for us. The forgiveness you know the Lord has for you and finding forgiveness within yourself to extend to those who have hurt you. The knowledge and wisdom that each page holds as you hide them in your heart, His truth, His love, His forgiveness. When life doesn’t look anything like what you imagined, but He remains faithful.

This mom was a part of our ministry a few years ago. She is absolutely amazing. To know her is a blessing. She not only blessed those around her when she was here, but is a faithful financial supporter of our ministry since she graduated the program. Thank you for the sweet story your bible told me as I looked down at it beside you as you and your sweet girls were worshipping.

Our sweet ladies surprised me last evening with a framed photo of myself and my mom, beautiful flowers and a sweet card. We are missing one of our families in the photo, Karissa and her two girls as she is out of town visiting her mother. The loss of my own mother has been difficult, but the love and prayers I keep receiving has been such a comfort and blessing. Thank you, to these wonderful moms in our ministry that took the time to show me how much they love me and appreciate being at Magnolia House. Love you ladies!

“It takes a village,” is a phrase we often hear when parenting. This holds true to our moms and children who come to us needing help and support due to domestic violence, abandonment and other forms of abuse. When women come to us they are struggling with consistent childcare, reliable transportation, funds for needs such as diapers, formula, food, gas. They come to us with little resources and many times with only the clothes they have on their back from fleeing an abusive situation.

How can you help? We are looking for partnerships so that Magnolia House Ministries can not only keep supporting our current moms, but also expand to house and help more. There aren’t many programs like ours, we receive referrals from all parts of NC, VA and surrounding states. We are small, but the impact is significant in each of these families lives.

Our greatest need is Financial Donations:

•Consistent monthly support from individuals

•Church and business/corporate sponsorship of one time donations or monthly support

•Community resources and partnerships

We are still working toward expanding to help more families in our mission to help moms and their children find sustainability and work toward independent living. Our moms here work hard in either furthering their education or building a career while juggling being a full time parent with sole responsibility of their little ones.
