“It takes a village,” is a phrase we often hear when parenting. This holds true to our moms and children who come to us needing help and support due to domestic violence, abandonment and other forms of abuse. When women come to us they are struggling with consistent childcare, reliable transportation, funds for needs such as diapers, formula, food, gas. They come to us with little resources and many times with only the clothes they have on their back from fleeing an abusive situation.

How can you help? We are looking for partnerships so that Magnolia House Ministries can not only keep supporting our current moms, but also expand to house and help more. There aren’t many programs like ours, we receive referrals from all parts of NC, VA and surrounding states. We are small, but the impact is significant in each of these families lives.

Our greatest need is Financial Donations:

•Consistent monthly support from individuals

•Church and business/corporate sponsorship of one time donations or monthly support

•Community resources and partnerships

We are still working toward expanding to help more families in our mission to help moms and their children find sustainability and work toward independent living. Our moms here work hard in either furthering their education or building a career while juggling being a full time parent with sole responsibility of their little ones.

Giving is easy through our website where you can choose to give monthly, quarterly or a one time gift. You can also send me a direct message if you’d like to give by mail.

Update: We need one more family/group to sponsor! Thank you so much to those of you that have commited to sponsor our other three new mothers for 2026! It’s a huge blessing to give these new moms the opportunity to nurture their newborns and work on their education. Here is the original post, if you missed it:

Magnolia House Ministries is excited to launch the plans through the maternity home vision to support pregnant women and moms with newborns. In doing this, we’d like to give each new mom the opportunity to keep her baby with her for the first year while furthering her education. We are currently looking for four sponsors. This commitment would include $250 a month to help with needs for mom and baby and praying daily for the family you’re sponsoring. If you’re interested in sponsoring one of our families, you can do so through our website, www.magnoliahouseministries.org

You can sign up to give monthly and place on the donation memo, “Sponsorship.” I will contact you and let you know the specifics regarding the family you’re supporting.t

Magnolia House has had a full week of sledding! We almost lost one of our moms in our ministry in the woods, she almost made it to the pond! It’s like an ice rink here!

Conveying an image of ministry is often difficult when there isn’t daily exposure. It’s easy to turn a blind eye within our own lives to those who are hurting. Our families come from current situations that have left them homeless, but their stories are deep rooted and go back to their childhood. Abandonment, sexual, physical and emotional abuse, dysfunctional families often laced with drug and alcohol abuse. They’ve left their current situations to break the cycle, to protect their children and themself from furthering generational patterns.

We are a small ministry that fits at this table in the picture (a couple board members are missing and one of our moms is blurred for protection of identity). We continue to make efforts to have a big impact in our little corner of the world in changing patterns and equipping families to become sustainable.

Please consider becoming a monthly donor in helping us reach our goals for the new year! You can donate through PayPal on our website, www.magnoliahouseministries.org or contact Carrie at (913) 704-9857 to make arrangements to mail a check.

We just recently completed a bible study that I wrote based on the difference in living earthly verses eternal focused. Eternally focused summed up, is walking closely daily in the lives of those you are called to serve. This morning, I had several tasks that I really needed to get to, but instead I was blessed to disciple and encourage three of our moms in our ministry separately through calls and text. This is often my norm. Investment and sacrificial discipleship and friendship doesn’t have a time constraint, it’s not always convenient, but ends in a blessing of time well spent. Ministering to others can be draining, often thankless and many days left feeling discouraged. People are needy and messy, yet the beauty in transformation of Christ’s likeness is beyond what I could describe with words. Last evening, one of my sweet mommas in our ministry left these beautiful flowers at my door with a heart filled note that said:

“I asked myself what do you get
someone who has pretty much everything she could need, doesnt like clutter and doesnt eat sweets. Well, this woman in question is as sweet, radiant, grace filled, and as poised as a flower.

The pink resembles all you do for the
women around you, showing love endlessly and selflessly. A true defintion of the embodiment of Christ. Christ moving in you as a vessel for His Glory. Thank you for being who He called you to be.”

Hoping this encourages all who sees and reads this in how blessed we are to be able to serve others as Jesus did humbly. He came to serve, not to be served. Merry Christmas from all of us here at Magnolia House Ministries!
