Memorial Day…

Today I was honored to attend the Memorial Day observance at the Boone County Courthouse made possible by The Boone County Composite Squadron (Civil Air Patrol) WV030 cadets and the Daniel Boone Post 5578 of the VFW.

As we go about this day, I hope we will take the time to remember the ones who made the ultimate sacrifice in support of our nation.

In addition to the Boone County students in the CAP, a Scott High student performed the National Anthem. Video of that from an attendee is below. 👇

Saturday, Cadets from Boone Composite Squadron went to Charleston Yeager Airport to fly their Orientation Flights.
Cadets from the ages 12-18 can fly for free. They actually have a chance to control the plane with a trained and experienced pilot while in the air.

Boone Composite Squadron, Civil Air Patrol is actively recruiting new cadets! Ages 12-20. Public school, homeschoolers and private school children are all welcome.

Where and when: Tuesdays at 6pm at 768 Lick Creek Rd. Across from the ballfield, attached to the Boone Nutrition Center.

There is no other opportunity like Civil Air Patrol anywhere else in the coalfields. Let Boone Composite Squadron’s members help you and your child build lifelong skills and unique experiences.
