🧡 Just over a week ago, many of you filled the room at the 21st Beat Leukemia Ball with incredible generosity, united by one purpose: helping Texans beat leukemia.
Today, we want to show you what that support looks like.
A North Texas family recently shared that their 10-year-old daughter is in one of the most difficult phases of leukemia treatment, facing some of the toughest side effects she has experienced so far. Yet through it all, she remains joyful, creative, and full of heart.
Her mother shared that, like many children facing serious illness, she has started asking big questions about pain, faith, and why hard things happen. But even in the midst of her own journey, this young girl often becomes the one encouraging her mom when worry and fear begin to take over.
Because of the generosity of our Beat Leukemia Ball community, Leukemia Texas was able to provide financial assistance to this family when they needed it most. While the music has faded and the auction paddles have been put away, your compassion is still at work—bringing relief, hope, and the reminder that no family has to walk this journey alone.
Today, we’re honored to share two poems written by this remarkable young girl. Through her words, you’ll see the strength, imagination, and hope that continue to shine brightly, even during the hardest days.
To everyone who attended, donated, sponsored, volunteered, bid, raised a paddle, or cheered us on at the Beat Leukemia Ball: thank you. This is your impact. This is why we gather. This is how, together, we help Texans beat leukemia. đź’›
