For more than a decade, Beyond the Burn Foundation has helped transform what is possible for burn patients and their families at Parkland Health.
Parkland Health Foundation was honored to unveil the Beyond The Burn Foundation plaque in the Burn Unit—a lasting tribute to a ten-year partnership that has made an extraordinary difference for patients, families and care teams.

Formerly known as Sons of the Flags, Beyond The Burn Foundation has become an invaluable partner in advancing burn care and supporting survivors.

Their generosity has helped:
-Provide Advanced Burn Life Support training for first responders, strengthening critical care before patients reach the hospital.
-Expand access to laser therapy, helping burn survivors heal and regain function and quality of life.
-Bring survivors together through Burn Survivor Support Groups and Reunions, fostering connection and hope.
-Create joyful experiences for children through Water Games at Camp I-Thonka-Chi.
-Establish an endowment fund to support families who travel to Parkland to be with a loved one receiving care for a burn injury, helping ease the burden during an incredibly difficult time.

Beyond the Burn Foundation helps survivors and families navigate the physical, emotional, and social challenges of recovery. Its approach recognizes that an injury may change someone’s life, but it does not define their future. With the right support and a strong community, survivors can emerge Stronger than before.

We are deeply grateful for this extraordinary partnership and Beyond the Burn’s unwavering commitment to helping burn survivors heal, rebuild and thrive.

THE DOLLAR AMOUNTS KEEP GROWING! 🎉

Last week, we donated out $36,500 towards two of our three programs we support! We visited the Moody Center for Breast Health at Parkland and donated $18,250 for mammograms for uninsured and underinsured individuals, and another $18,250 to Dahlia’s Breast Cancer Can Stick It! Fund, which provides financial assistance for breast cancer treatment. These donations were made possible thanks to YOU! We are incredibly grateful for your support in helping us make a difference in the lives of so many.

Shout out to the team at Parkland - we are so inspired by them and they are amazing partners! At our visit, they brought us up to one of their patient services areas, which is always an honor. They showed us a beautiful piece of collaborative artwork, and graciously invited April to add her diagnosis date. Our visits and check presentations always renew our resolve to STICK IT to breast cancer! We are already working hard on 2026 fundraising plans, so we can provide more and more for them in the years to come.
