The Salvation Army Women's Ministries Texas Encompass opportunities for women to be valued, encouraged, and equipped through Christian faith

Vision Statement
The Salvation Army Women’s Ministries encompass various opportunities for all women where they are valued, encouraged, equipped, and invited to catch the joy through Christian faith and fellowship. Our mission is to provide opportunity to win women for Christ and assist in their spiritual growth; nurturing an awareness of the needs of the family, the community, the nation, and the

world. The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church established in 1865, has been supporting those in need in His name without discrimination for 129 years in the United States. Nearly 30 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through the broadest array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children. 82 cents of every dollar spent is used to support those services in 5,000 communities nationwide.

Imagine living a full and interesting life, retiring and then in your 90s becoming a beloved celebrity.

This was the case for the granddaughter of The Salvation Army’s Founders, William and Catherine Booth. Her name was Catherine Bramwell-Booth.

I realize that the more I trust You, the less afraid I will be. As I concentrate on trusting You, please help me relax in Your sovereignty—remembering that You go before me, as well as with me, into each day.

"Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal." —Isaiah 26:4

Anxiety and faith can feel like two roommates who share the same apartment but never share a meal together. They pass by as though a single word between them might erupt into an argument, so they stay silent and distant.

But God doesn’t want us to separate our faith from our anxiety. He never asks us to leave our problems at the sanctuary door. Instead, He asks us to bring them to Him, to talk about them with Him, and to work through them with His guidance. Instead of pushing anxiety away, God welcomes us into His presence with all of our messy, panicky, overwhelmed thoughts and feelings.

The Apostle Peter, who knew Jesus intimately, encourages us, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7).

Not only does God want us to enter His space with our anxieties and draw near to Him, but He also wants us to cast our anxieties onto Him. He knows how to handle them, and He knows how to comfort us even while our thoughts are swirling. He is with us and wants to walk with us because He loves us.

In other words, your faith can continue to grow while you are working on your anxiety. As you cast your worries onto Jesus, He catches them with ease and reaches toward you with an outstretched arm — not to give your problems back but to take your hand.

What is one true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, or praiseworthy thing you can focus on this week instead of focusing on anxious thoughts?

Major Anne Westmoreland got to see Major Susie Erickson off at the airport this evening as she embarks on a new and exciting ministry opportunity in Bangladesh, where she will be ministering to women as the Territorial Secretary for Women’s Ministries.

Her beautiful smile reflects her beautiful heart, and her deep love for Jesus.

Please join in praying for Major Susie as she settles into her new home and ministers to our Bangladeshi sisters🙏❤️🇧🇩
