Falling on the longest day of the year, it’s the perfect day to celebrate the tallest animal on Earth!

World Giraffe Day is a reminder that awareness and action go hand in hand. Thank you for standing tall with us for giraffes! 🦒

🦒 Please meet little William from Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 !

William was born on Christmas Day 2025 at Wild is Life in Zimbabwe — but his start in life wasn’t easy. Shortly after birth, his mother Skye abandoned him, and the Wild is Life dedicated handlers had to step in to give him the love and nourishment he needed. Today, he’s thriving and drinking 24 litres of milk formula every single day!

Save Giraffes Now helped build a giraffe paddock a few years ago that is now being used by William, and more recently contributed towards a night stable tall enough to grow with him.

Once William is around nine months old and fully weaned, he’ll return to the game park and rejoin the herd where he belongs. 🌿

We will keep sharing updates of special William ❤️

🦒 Building Guardians for Giraffes in Botswana

Exciting things have been happening on the ground in Botswana! We recently donated some equipment and wrapped up a two-day training around giraffe monitoring at Goo-Moremi Gorge with particpants from both Goo-Moremi Gorge and Khama Rhino Sanctuary. The training objectives were clear:

✅ Understand key conservation challenges facing giraffes today — from habitat loss and human-wildlife conflict to the impacts of drought.
✅ Highlight why species monitoring is not just data collection — it’s essential for determining and reaching conservation outcomes.
✅ Get hands-on! Participants were introduced to tracking equipment and camera systems donated by Save Giraffes Now, with live field demonstrations so they can hit the ground running.

A huge thank you to the scouts, partners, and everyone who made this training possible. 🙌

We are so excited to see and take to the track this 2026 Lamborghini Super Trofeo season with a stunning giraffe-themed livery, helping shine a spotlight on Africa’s giraffes and the incredible organisations working to protect them. 🦒

This is exactly the kind of bold, creative partnership that brings giraffe conservation to a wider audience. 🏁🧡

A huge thank you to everyone involved for standing tall for giraffes — and best of luck for the season ahead!

Happy ! 🌍

This year’s theme is “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future” — and it feels very close to home for us.

Giraffes aren’t just beautiful. They’re a vital part of Africa’s landscapes. So healthy giraffe populations mean healthy ecosystems. And healthy ecosystems are one of our greatest allies against climate change — it’s a full circle.

Today and everyday we will continue to do what we do for giraffes and our beautiful planet. 🌍

❤️ YOU DID IT! ❤️

Thanks to your incredible generosity, we have reached our fundraising goal for Mike Parkei’s kidney treatment.

When we shared Mike’s story, we hoped people would recognize the extraordinary man he is. Mike stood on the front lines helping save the last remaining herd of Rothschild’s giraffes at Ruko Conservancy during devastating floods, dedicating his life to protecting wildlife.

The response has been overwhelming. On behalf of Mike, his family, and all of us, thank you. Your kindness, compassion, and support will help provide the life-saving treatment he urgently needs.
