The Barking Project The Barking Project, launched in 2022, was established to help save dogs from euthanasia in overcrowded Texas shelters.

Through large-scale adoption events, we unite rescues, raise awareness, and distribute proceeds to support their lifesaving efforts.

🐾 Meet Cassie! 🐾

Cassie joined The Barking Project in October 2025 after meeting fellow TBP members promoting the organization at WFAA, where she works as a meteorologist. 🌦️

At just seven years old in Kentucky, Cassie knew two things: she loved animal rescue and weather! Cassie now gets to combine these two passions through her work as an on-air meteorologist and a board member with TBP. As part of TBP, Cassie helps spread the word about our mission, events and adoptable animals through social media and local news outlets. 📺🐶

When she’s not forecasting or helping TBP, you can probably find Cassie hanging out with her dog, Lucas, and cheering on animals in need of their forever homes. 🐱❤️
