🩷 THROWBACK THURSDAY 🩷
One thing cancer taught me very quickly is this: Your village matters.
During one of the hardest seasons of my life, I was fighting to simply make it through the day.
Trying to eat. Trying to rest. Trying to survive treatment. Trying to still function while battling pain, nausea, exhaustion, and uncertainty.
And during that season… people showed up.
One of those incredible people was the incomparable .
She drove more than an hour just to bring food she thought I could actually tolerate during treatment — not only for me, but for my family too.
That kind of love stays with people forever.
When you are walking through cancer, illness, grief, or hardship, you quickly learn: some people offer words… and some people offer presence.
The ones who check on you. Pray for you. Feed you. Sit with you. Encourage you. Show up without needing applause…
THAT is your village.
And sometimes, your village becomes closer than your own blood family.
Today, I simply want to say: Thank you to every person who showed up for me during one of the darkest chapters of my life.
Never underestimate how healing love, food, prayer, support, and simple acts of kindness can be for someone fighting to keep going.
Please love on your people. Check on your strong friends. Reciprocate support. And never take genuine hearts for granted. 🩷
