Fellow officers,
As we begin another school year, I want to take a moment to personally thank each of you for the commitment, courage, and dedication you bring to our schools every single day.
You are more than a uniform in the hallway. You are a protector, a mentor, a trusted resource, and often a reassuring presence for students, teachers, and families. Your job requires you to be prepared for the unexpected while building relationships that help make our schools safer and stronger.
As you walk through those school doors this year, know that your service matters. The relationships you build, the conversations you have, and the decisions you make can have a lasting impact on the lives of the students and staff you serve.
My sincere hope is that each of you has a safe, successful, and rewarding school year. Stay alert, look out for one another, take care of yourselves and your fellow officers, and never forget the tremendous difference you make in your schools and communities.
Thank you for answering the call to serve. Thank you for standing in the gap. Most importantly, thank you for being there when our schools need you most.
Be safe. Stay strong. Lead with purpose. And come home safely every day.
