🍩❤️ Happy National Donut Day! ❤️🍩
Today, The Salvation Army of Cumberland proudly celebrates National Donut Day, a tradition that honors the courageous "Donut Lassies" who served soldiers on the front lines during World War I, offering not only fresh donuts but also comfort, encouragement, and hope.
As we remember their legacy of service, we also want to take a moment to recognize and thank the everyday heroes in our own community who continue to serve others with dedication and compassion.
A special thank you to the Cumberland Police Department, our local Fire Department, and our Emergency Management teams—including our 911 Dispatchers and EMS personnel. Your commitment to protecting, serving, and caring for our community does not go unnoticed. We are grateful for the sacrifices you make and the countless ways you support our neighbors every day.
It was our privilege to share a small token of appreciation with you today. Just as the Donut Lassies served with hearts full of compassion, we are thankful for those who continue that spirit of service in Cumberland.
Thank you for all you do. We are blessed to have you as partners in serving our community. 💙🚔🚒🚑🍩
