Retired police K9s may no longer chase suspects or search for evidence, but they still need proper nutrition to stay healthy as they age. Just like people, senior dogs often require specialized diets to help support their joints, digestion, and overall health.

Today, we celebrate the freedoms we enjoy and the communities that make Allegany County such a special place to call home.

As you gather with family and friends, please remember that fireworks and large celebrations can be stressful for pets—including our retired police K9 heroes. Keep your furry family members indoors, provide a quiet, comfortable space, and make sure they have updated ID tags just in case they become frightened.
