That’s a wrap on Send Off Day with Leadership Allegany!

Today marked the close of another incredible year of learning, collaboration, and connection. From exploring the strengths and challenges of our community to building lasting relationships along the way, this class has shown what leadership in Allegany County looks like.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this day possible: Rocky Gap Casino Resort and WEPCO Federal Credit Union for sponsoring the day. Mayor Judy Hamilton, Port West Restaurant and Chic Fil A LaVale. We can’t wait to see how this year’s class continues to make an impact throughout our region.

It’s been a big week for Leadership Allegany!

Our steering committee met on Tuesday for their annual planning session. Almost 25 alumni met to discuss the program and what we can do to enhance the experience for future classes! Keep an eye out for the upcoming application window. Thank you to Allegany College of Maryland for providing our meeting space, lunch was delicious!

Last night at Chamber After Hours, hosted by Wamba Caravan and the Alhambra. Our Leadership Allegany Alumni Committee co-chair was on hand to discuss the Alumni Scholarship program and to answer questions for potential participants.

The Class of 2026 and their facilitators took a few minutes last week to acknowledge the critical issue of domestic violence. During both Local Government and Human Services Days, the class will learn more about this issue, along with the programs and services that help to address the ongoing fight against domestic violence.
