MSP Cumberland Explorers

MSP Cumberland Explorers Our goal is to teach the core values to succeed in life! This program will prove to be beneficial to young persons regardless of their career choice.

This on-going program provides a unique opportunity for youth to learn about law enforcement career as well as; self discipline, respect, confidence, teamwork, and the desire to help others! The primary objective of the Maryland State Police Explorer Post #52 is to learn leadership skills while aiding sworn MSP personnel in a wide variety of functions within the community. The program also provide

s an insight into the demands of life as a State Trooper and a career in Law Enforcement. By participating in this youth volunteer organization, valuable skills can be developed that will assist throughout adult life. Skills that will be acquired are;

2. Responsibility
3. Awareness
4. Physical Fitness
5. Role Models
6. Citizenship
7. Community Involvement
8. Self Discipline

Thank you so much to everyone who came out to support our event!! We were able to raise over $2000 for Zoey!!

Thank you to all the teams who came out -- Maryland State Police / Maryland State Police Cumberland Barrack , Cumberland Police Department , Allegany County Sheriff's Office, Maryland , Frostburg City Police Department , Frostburg State University University Police, Maryland Department of Juvenile Services , Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services , and FCI Cumberland!

Thank you to those that donated items to be raffled including family members of Zoey's and Cumberland Valley Optimist Club ! Thank you to Pepsi for the drink donations as well as the Shimers for snacks! Faith Hope & Images gave all proceeds of t-shirt sales for the donation as well!

Thank you to Allegany High School for letting us host the event there!

This community comes together each year for this great event and it's mind blowing each time! Thank you for supporting our local law enforcement and thank you for supporting someone local going through a difficult time!

Come out and support your local law enforcement agencies as well as a youth in our community!!

Wow! This had to be our biggest Not So Scary Halloween Event yet!! We hope you had as much fun as we did! We loved seeing all the people and all the amazing costumes! We estimate almost 1000 people in attendance! 🥳

Last night was our annual Law Enforcement Charity Basketball game! We had a great turnout despite the holiday weekend. Thanks to everyone who participated, we were able to raise over $500 for the Cumberland Valley Optimist Club !!

Allegany County Sheriff's Office was the night's winner! Maryland State Police and Cumberland City played hard and were well represented!

Thank you to Tom Farrell for announcing the games! Thank you to Allegany County Board Of Education, Allegany High School, and custodian Mike Cross for letting us host the games with ease! Special thank you to the referees who volunteered their time to ref all the games - George Geatz, Matt Rippey, Scott Long, and Devin Burke!

We are already looking forward to next year. Thank you again to everyone who supported a great event that gives back to the community!
