Joining members will receive the 32nd Degree at the conclusion of the day.

Potomac News!

9/3/2026 - Three worthy brothers raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason. Candidates (shown in front row) are Brothers M. Vondal, M. Ackerman, and A. Minnick. Surrounding them are brothers of Potomac and various lodges within the Cumberland Temple. Special thanks to these brothers in assisting with degree work. Of note, multiple Past Masters of Potomac Lodge #100 were in attendance.

Worshipful Master C. Ackerman also presented Lewis Medals to families within the Lodge. Potomac Lodge has many members that also have family connections including the Dawson, Leaf, Ackerman, Wheeler, Lewis, McKenzie and now Minnick/Twigg families.

Mark your calendars: two more nights of degree work are scheduled:
- Thursday; October 15th…x3 Master Mason Degree; 6pm
- Thursday; October 29th…x1 Entered Apprentice Degree; 6pm

Mark your calendars! Lodge will be starting back in September, and having meetings on the 1st and 3rd of every month at 6pm. Exception is November and December - with the holiday season we typically have only a meeting on the 1st Thursday of those two months (however, if needed we can get approval for more meetings as needed).

Special Dates to Attend:
- Thursday; September 3rd at 6pm. Regular communication with 3 men being raised into the 3rd degree.
- Thursday; October 15th at 6pm. Regular communication with 3 men being raised into the 3rd degree.

As another Battie Mixon Fishing Rodeo comes to a close, we are filled with gratitude for everyone who made this special day possible.

To our generous donors, thank you for your unwavering support and belief in our mission. Your contributions help ensure that this tradition continues to create lasting memories for children and families throughout our community.

To our dedicated volunteers, thank you for the countless hours spent planning, preparing, organizing, and serving. From the early morning setup to the final cleanup, your hard work and commitment are the backbone of this event.

To our committed leaders and organizers, thank you for your vision, guidance, and tireless efforts throughout the year. Your leadership keeps this cherished tradition strong and ensures its continued success for future generations.

Most importantly, thank you to the families, participants, and supporters who joined us and made the day so memorable. Seeing children enjoy the outdoors, learn the value of patience and sportsmanship, and create lifelong memories reminds us why this event has remained such an important part of our community.

Together, we continue a tradition that is about much more than fishing. It is about service, fellowship, community, and investing in the next generation.

Congratulations to recent Fort Hill High School graduate Noah House on being selected for a generous scholarship from Potomac Lodge #100 AF&AM, sponsored by the Maryland Masonic Charities. Noah is excited to head down into Virginia to pursue his education in Mechanical Engineering. We wish him all the best!
