Golden Hope Ministries

Golden Hope Ministries Our mission is to provide a safe place for peer-to-peer grief support for children, teens and adults in the North West Indiana area.

Our Vision
At Golden Hope our vision is to bring awareness to the community on the impact of grief in children, teens and families. We strive to equip these individuals with the tools and resources they need to acknowledge, adapt and heal after loss in a healthy way. We do this by providing a safe space for children, teens and families to find peer-to-peer support while normalizing the grief proc

ess so that individuals may continue to find strength, hope and healing. Our Values
We recognize that while loss is a universal experience, the grief process is unique to each individual. We believe that all individuals should have age appropriate support and resources they need to navigate their grief journey. We respect the intentional hard work that each individual and family dedicates themselves to in their healing process.

2026-2027 Group Night registration is OPEN! 💛

If your family is walking through grief and loss, you don’t have to navigate this journey alone.

At Golden Hope, we support grieving children, teens, and families with the understanding that everyone grieves differently. When a family experiences the death of someone important, each family member’s grief is unique—and so is the support they need.
Children deserve support through grief, too—not just the adults around them. They deserve a safe place to process their loss with others their age and receive support that meets them right where they are in their grief journey.

We offer four child & teen groups for ages 4–17, along with three adult groups for adults of participating children and teens:
• Littles 4-6 y/o
• Middles 7-9 y/o
• Tweens 10-12 y/o
• Teens 13-17 y/o
• Bereaved Adults
• Bereaved Spouses
• Bereaved Parents/Grandparents/Caregivers

Each group night begins with a shared dinner from 6:00–6:30 PM, followed by groups from 6:30–7:45 PM.

Our groups kick off Thursday, September 10, and we would love to have your family join us!

If your family is walking through grief and loss, you don’t have to do it alone.

As we gear up for group nights to begin, We’re looking for businesses, small groups, church groups, families, and individuals who would like to help provide dinner for Golden Hope group nights!

There are lots of ways to help:

🥘 Sponsor a Meal — Give a donation to cover the cost of dinner.

🍴 Supply a Meal — Donate a meal from your restaurant, or gather your small group to cook for our families!

🍪 Share a Treat — Love to bake? Bring a dessert to share!

Group night dinners are about more than just food. They give grieving families a chance to sit together, eat together, and simply be together. Those family dinners can be easy to lose in the midst of grief, so creating that space twice a month is a really meaningful part of our ministry.

Send us a message or email [email protected] to sign up!💛

We have a BIG need at Golden Hope right now… we’re looking for 4 more Group Facilitators for our upcoming program year! 💛

Golden Hope has 7 grief groups that meet twice a month, and we’re looking for a few more people who would be willing to come alongside children, teens, and adults as they walk through grief.

• Littles (ages 4–6)
• Middles (ages 7–9)
• Tweens (ages 10–12)
• Teens (ages 13–17)
• Bereaved Adults
• Bereaved Spouses
• Bereaved Parents/Grandparents

And here’s the thing… you don’t have to be a grief expert. You don’t have to have the perfect words or know exactly what to say.

What you do need is a compassionate heart, a willingness to listen, and a desire to walk alongside grieving children and families with biblically rooted compassion and perspective.

Training is provided, and we’ll walk alongside you as you learn and grow in your role.

Some of the most meaningful moments at Golden Hope happen simply because someone is willing to sit with a child or family and say, “You don’t have to walk through this alone.”

If you’ve ever thought about getting involved with Golden Hope, we’d love to start a conversation with you!

Hope in Motion Activity Spotlight: Memory Garden🌸

Our Memory Garden quickly became one of the sweetest spots at last week's Hope in Motion Family Fest.

Children and families filled the garden with colorful flowers, each one holding a favorite memory, a funny story, a special quote, or a message to someone they love and miss. As the evening went on, the garden continued to bloom with stories, laughter, tears, and so much love.

It was such a beautiful reminder that while grief changes us, the love we have for our people never fades. It continues to grow in new ways as we remember them, share their stories, and carry their memory with us every day.

Thank you to everyone who helped fill our garden with so much love and hope💜

Hope in Motion Activity Spotlight: Grief & Hope Graffiti Walls🎨

One of the most meaningful activities from last week's Hope in Motion Family Fest was our Grief & Hope Graffiti Walls.

These walls became a safe place for children and families to honestly share the difficult parts of grief—what they miss, what hurts, and the realities of living without someone they love. Right alongside those messages were words of hope, encouragement, Scripture, and reminders of what continues to sustain them.

The result was a beautiful picture of the grief journey. Heartbreak and hope. Tears and healing. Honest pain alongside the promise that there is always hope in Christ.

Thank you to everyone who courageously shared a piece of their heart. Your words not only honored your loved ones but also encouraged others walking a similar path 💜

It's been one week since our Hope in Motion Family Fest and we are beyond excited to share that not only did we surpass our $5,000 fundraising goal... we DOUBLED it! Together, we raised over $10,000 for our program nights! We are overwhelmed with gratitude!!!

To every family who created a team, shared your loved one's story, hosted lemonade stands, asked for donations, spread the word on social media, and invited others to support this special event—thank you. Every dollar raised was done in honor and memory of someone deeply loved.

And to every single person who gave a donation, no matter the amount, thank you for making a difference. Your generosity will help ensure that children, teens, and adults can continue receiving grief support at Golden Hope Ministries completely free of charge.

What an incredible reminder that love continues to make an impact long after someone is gone. More than anything, this event reminded us that even in the midst of grief, there is always hope. Our hope isn't found in the absence of pain, but in the faithful promise of Jesus Christ, who walks with us through every season and brings light into our darkest days.

Over the next week, we'll be sharing highlights from our very first Hope in Motion Family Fest. It was a beautiful evening filled with remembrance, hope, connection, laughter, and a whole lot of fun.

From the bottom of our hearts—thank you!💛
