To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. Crossroads YMCA is TRANSFORMING LAKE COUNTY.

We currently have locations in Crown Point, Griffith, Hammond, and Whiting. Additionally, Hobart (January 2022) and Schererville (December 2021). Lake County faces new challenges that create a greater need than ever for the work we do every day. Fortunately, where some see obstacles, we see opportunities for our members, volunteers and staff to make a difference.

As the days get colder, let’s come together to bring warmth and hope to those in need. From October 19-November 6, we’re hosting a Food & Coat Drive to support our local community, and we need your help!

✨𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙚:
• 𝘿𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙁𝙤𝙤𝙙: Bring non-perishable items like canned proteins, peanut butter, nuts, cereal, beans, and ready-to-eat fruit.
• 𝘿𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝘾𝙤𝙖𝙩𝙨: Drop off new or gently used coats for children and adults of all sizes. Every coat brings comfort!
📍 Look for designated drop-off boxes near entrances at select Crossroads YMCA branches: Griffith Family YMCA of Crossroads YMCA Association, Schererville Family YMCA of Crossroads YMCA Association, Whiting Family YMCA of Crossroads YMCA Association, Hammond Family YMCA of Crossroads YMCA Association, and Hobart Family YMCA of Crossroads YMCA Association. Your food and coat donations will support local organizations and help our neighbors in need this winter.

Our Crossroads YMCA Advance Collective committee is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month by bringing stories, culture, and connection into our classrooms! As part of their commitment to listening, learning, and leading a culture of opportunity and inclusivity for all, the team read Paletero Man by Lucky Diaz to our Preschool students at the Southlake YMCA.

This vibrant, bilingual children's book follows a young boy through a busy Los Angeles neighborhood as he searches for Paletero José and his delicious paletas (ice pops). When he realizes he has lost his money, the kindness of his neighbors helps save the day! The story beautifully highlights the importance of community, kindness, and coming together to help one another. 💕 After each reading, our students got to enjoy their own delicious paletas, bringing the story to life in a sweet and memorable way! 📚🍭

We are grateful for opportunities like these to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by sharing meaningful stories, and creating connections with our community! ❤️

Our Crossroads YMCA team came together at the Southlake YMCA and Hammond Family YMCA for a Latino Leaders Watch Party in Celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month! 🎉❤️

The national Hispanic Latino Leadership Network (HLLN) hosted its 4th annual Cultura celebration, featuring this year’s theme, “Unidos por Nuestras Raíces: Leading with Pride, Purpose, and Legacy.” This theme highlights the importance of celebrating our identities, honoring our cultural roots, and embracing the power of unity to build a lasting legacy for future generations.

It was a wonderful opportunity to gain new insights, celebrate our cultures, connect with colleagues, and enjoy great company and delicious food! ❤️

Golfing for a cause! ⛳🏌️‍♂️

Check out all the fun from our 2026 Golf Outing! A huge thank you to everyone who came out, participated and contributed. We couldn’t put on this event without your support! Congratulations to all of our raffle winners! 🎉All proceeds from the outing support the Y’s income-based scholarship program, helping make YMCA programs and services accessible to everyone in our community.

This year, for the first time ever, we were excited to invite one of our Hammond Family YMCA of Crossroads YMCA Association members, Ellen. Ellen broke out of a sedentary lifestyle and began personal training with Sharon, a Personal Trainer at the Hammond Family YMCA. Before training, she parked in handicap spaces, held onto carts while grocery shopping and couldn’t use the stairs. Now, Ellen parks farther away to get in extra steps, always takes the stairs and is working toward golfing again, something she has always enjoyed. 🎃 Fall fun is calling! 🍂

Mark your calendar for Saturday, October 10 and join us at Camp Triangle Hills of Crossroads YMCA Association for a day filled with outdoor fun, family activities and our annual Run for the Hills 5K/2K!

🏃‍♀️ Challenge yourself on the scenic, closed course as you make your way through the beautiful 144-acre Camp Triangle Hills property. Choose the 5K at 8:00am or the 2K at 8:05am and enjoy a fun morning on the trails!

And the fun doesn’t stop at the finish line! Stick around for Fall Fest from 8:00am–2:00pm with food trucks, hay rides, a petting zoo and plenty more family-friendly activities.
