To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. Crossroads YMCA is TRANSFORMING LAKE COUNTY.

We currently have locations in Crown Point, Griffith, Hammond, and Whiting. Additionally, Hobart (January 2022) and Schererville (December 2021). Lake County faces new challenges that create a greater need than ever for the work we do every day. Fortunately, where some see obstacles, we see opportunities for our members, volunteers and staff to make a difference.

We are incredibly grateful for the Grant County Family YMCA and their members for stepping up to support our community during the recent storms. They generously donated essential items, including towels, soap, lotion, and more, to help support those in need.

We were also lucky enough to give tours of some of our Crossroads YMCA locations and share more about the work happening across our association.

This month, we had so much fun spending time with our YMCA community at YMCA Night at the Gary SouthShore RailCats game! From the excitement of the first pitch to a fantastic performance by our YMCA Cheer Team, the evening was one to remember! 🎉

As we continue to review, reset and restart, you may experience temporary closures, delays or adjusted schedules. Some planned spruce-up closures may also begin early to help minimize multiple disruptions.

✅ Sportscenter: open Sunday 8/16 7am-1pm
✅ Triangle Hills: closed on Sunday (as usual) but regular hours Monday 8/17
✅ Whiting Family Y: open Sunday 8/16 regular hours

Thank you to members for all their support and patience during our closures due to the unprecedented storm damage and power outages.

Special thank you to our local municipalities for all their hard work to restore power and for storm cleanup during this week. We thank NIPSCO for their teams’ hard work restoring power safely in our communities.

CROSSROADS YMCA UPDATE–THURSDAY, AUGUST 13 at 2:00pm

Our YMCA locations remain closed as power outages continue to impact our facilities and communities.

We will be evaluating each branch individually. When power is restored, our teams will assess each facility to make sure it is safe and ready to welcome members back. We will share our next update as soon as we have new detailed information regarding reopening.

CROSSROADS YMCA UPDATE – THURSDAY, AUGUST 13 | 10:30 AM

Good morning, Crossroads YMCA community. Many areas across Northwest Indiana are still working through power outages and the impacts of this week’s severe storms.

For now, our YMCA locations will remain closed as we continue assessing conditions at our facilities and experiencing loss of power.

We know many of you are navigating outages, cleanup, and other challenges at home as well. Thank you for your patience as we work to make thoughtful decisions with the safety of our members and staff in mind.

We will provide our next update at 2:00pm today with information about YMCA operations for the remainder of Thursday, August 13.

We appreciate your understanding and hope everyone continues to stay safe.

CROSSROADS YMCA UPDATE FOR THURSDAY, AUGUST 13

As our community continues to recover from severe storms, power outages, and storm damage, our YMCA will remain closed Thursday morning, August 13.

We know this has been a challenging time for many of our members, staff, and neighbors, and we appreciate your continued patience and understanding as restoration efforts continue.

We will share another update at Noon on Thursday, August 13 regarding YMCA operations for the remainder of the day.
