Something to Hold

Something to Hold Hand-tied blankets. Heartfelt community. Faith-rooted purpose.

The Sikma family moved! We are now looking for a place to "host" our blanket requests that are ready to be picked up.

We have had a deck box on our porch for easy & flexible pickups from those who have requested blankets from us. If anyone has a location that is in NWI that is willing to host this box for us we would greatly appreciate this service!

Please reach out if you are open to working with us on this or have an idea of someone we could reach out to so we can get back to our operations quickly! ❤

We’ll be playing bunco for special shop prizes hand-picked from Sweet Pea Designs, enjoying light refreshments, and creating space to connect as women in our community.

This night is about more than dice and blooms. It’s about raising awareness for Something to Hold and the moms we serve — those walking through miscarriage, stillbirth, and infant loss. As we gather, we gently share our mission to ensure no mom walks through loss without something tangible to hold.

This is a free event. When you register, you’ll see an optional donation opportunity, and donations will also be welcomed the night of for those who feel led.

We will also have blankets available for anyone in need of one or for gifting to a mom who may need one.

Spots are limited, so reserve your seat at the bunco table!

Come for the fun. Stay for the purpose. Gather with us.

🚨 We found a fabric supplier! 🚨

As we finish up our inventory from Joann’s closeout, we’ve just been so overwhelmed by the generosity that carried us through a season of not knowing what was next. Truly… thank you.

We’re so excited to share that we’ve found a new source out of Chicago with beautiful solid colors — and we’re continuing with the same one-layer fleece tie blankets you know and love. Keeping this part of Something to Hold the same means more to us than we can put into words.

More fabric means more of it all — more events, more blankets gifted, more opportunities to serve, and more ways for our community to be part of this mission!

If you’ve been waiting to get involved or plan a service project, this is your sign — we’re ready and would love to connect! ✨

New program announcement! 📣

Moms Together Collective, a private mailing list for our local moms of loss.

Moms Together because that is what we are, moms! Moms to babies we will forever hold in our hearts and we think it is time we do more of this together.

What does this collective mean? This is a private registry, not a group chat. You won’t be added to a conversation or expected to respond. It simply allows us to reach out with encouragement & let you know we’re here for you.

This is the extension of our serving that we have been praying for. Our blankets will always be a cherished offering of comfort, but we see them more as an invitation. They carry our information for them to see our resources, visit our events and now have a "no strings attached" opportunity to be walked with further.

Joining Moms Together Co. only means sharing your information with us that is kept confidential and then receiving comfort and care right to your box - inbox or mail box! There is no sending schedule and there is no information sharing. It is our chance to be able to reach the moms needing further care in a quiet be "here for you" way, a chance for us to gather specific prayer requests and an opportunity to serve our community more.

We have this free resource for our local NWI moms of loss and we are eager for you to register or share with a loved one you believe may need this. There is no timeline on grief. Whether your loss was last week or last year (or longer), this space was created with you in mind.

Whether it is a card in the mail or coffee treat to your inbox, this new program for us opens even more doors for the community to join forces. If you have questions about this, do not hesitate to reach out!

We know social media can be a hard place to be when you’re grieving.

Our hope is that what we share here would either help you understand this mission more deeply, or meet you right where you are with a glimpse of comfort.

If this verse is something you need today, we hope you pause, say a prayer, and maybe even save it for later. 🕊️

We’re stepping into 2026 with a full prayer journal and a clear direction.

We’ve been preparing behind the scenes — building a fulfillment team, finding a new fabric supplier with the most beautiful colors, and filling our calendar with meaningful events and opportunities to serve.

And we’re running toward something bigger…
The Holding Place.

A space to create, to serve, to gather, and to care for families in some of their hardest moments. A place where blankets are made and given, where doors are open when they’re needed most, and where comfort and the hope of the Gospel are always present.

Thank you for being part of what God is building through Something to Hold. 🕊️ We would love for you to do a quick read through our hopes for 2026 and these things to your own prayer list.

Volunteer search — help us stay on top of blanket requests!

This is can be done partly at home with stops in St. John required. Maybe an hour a week, depending on our number of requests.

With a handful of TRUSTED volunteers in this role, we can rotate the fulfillment schedule as only 1 volunteer is needed at a time.

If you have any questions, please reach out!

Gifting these blankets is such important work, reading these stories is sacred. We pray over each and every one and we hold any information we have very very close. This is a very important, yet simple role. It is also where I am falling short the most in this season. I would truly love some helping hands in this!
