It was another wonderful Kindergarten bridging celebration at our River Ridge Early Learning Center on Friday!

We are incredibly proud to be part of these children's journeys, knowing that true kindergarten readiness is so much more than simply holding a pencil or memorizing letters; it's about nurturing confident, curious and resilient learners who are ready to thrive beyond the classroom.

Time to stop scrolling and CELEBRATE once again!

Not one - not two - we are thrilled to share that THREE Learning Grove leaders received early childhood awards from Southwest Ohio AEYC last weekend!

Standing out across a 16-county footprint spanning from Cincinnati to Dayton and Columbus, these educators were chosen for their commitment to making a difference for young children and families. Join us in celebrating: Deanna Lane, VP of Family & Community Services; Delorise Pennington, Early Childhood Specialist; and Linda Metzger, Recently Retired Lead Preschool Teacher.

Help us congratulate them in the comments for this incredible regional recognition! πŸ‘βœ¨

Books and Breakfast with Moms this morning at our River Ridge Early Learning Center! πŸ₯―🌱

At Learning Grove, we know that a child’s first and most important teacher is their family, and this weekend we are leading with gratitude to celebrate the moms and mother figures whose steady love and partnership make everything we do in the classroom possible.

There are people who show up every day and quietly change the world. At Learning Grove, those people are our teachers.

To our educators: We see you.

We see you celebrating the messy, beautiful process of a child discovering how the world works through play. We see the way you build a soft place for children to land so they have the courage to fly. You are nurturing the next generation of thinkers, doers, and kind human beings.

This week is a small attempt to say a very big thank you. Thank you for the patience that never seems to run out and for the deep, unwavering love you pour into every child from cradle to classroom and beyond.

You are the heartbeat of Learning Grove. We are so lucky to walk this path with you.

πŸ™ŒπŸŽ“πŸŒ±Stop scrolling and help us celebrate a massive milestone!

We are beaming with pride because two of our incredible preschool teachers just officially leveled up and are now University of Cincinnati graduates with their Bachelors in Early Childhood Education!

Between lesson planning, sensory play and being the daily heroes our children deserve, these two have been putting in the late-night study hours and the hard work to cross that stage. Nadine and Yenifer, your commitment to being the best for our children is truly inspiring.

We truly treasure our team for always wanting to grow, and we'll ALWAYS cultivate that "never stop learning" energy at every single level of our agency.

Drop some ❀️ and πŸŽ“ in the comments to congratulate our grads!

Why do we celebrate The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)'s Week of the Young Child each year?

Because we believe every child, regardless of their zip code, deserves a high-quality education that encourages them to think critically and grow emotionally. This week is about honoring the children, their families, and the educators who make our community shine.

Stay tuned for glimpses into the fun from our classrooms!

Learning Grove is very proud of our partnership with A Picture's Worth and United Way of Greater Cincinnati to present "Widening the Lens."

Recently at Taft High School, we watched 15 students lead a room of city council members, CEOs and civic leaders. These young people didn't ask for help; they asked for accountability and access.

When we truly listen to young people, we move from "fixing" to "partnering." When students truly have the opportunity to lead from the heart, the whole city gets stronger.

Check out the full op-ed to see how these student leaders are rewriting the story of Cincinnati:

Opinion: Cincinnati's resident satisfaction survey results captured perception, but not the lived leadership of young people.

Recently, our Price Hill Early Learning Center held a Literacy Night centered around the author Eric Carle, and it was a wonderful experience for both families and children!

Each classroom selected a different book and created a hands-on activity to go along with it. We also organized a book walk on the playground using the book From Head To Toe. For example:
πŸ•· The Very Busy Spider: Children created their own spider webs.
πŸ¦† Ten Little Rubber Ducks: Families participated in a scavenger hunt to find and document all ten ducks hidden around the classroom.
🦎 The Mixed-Up Chameleon: Children and families explored color mixing with paint to discover new colors.
🌱 The Tiny Seed: Families decorated pots and planted flower seeds together.
πŸ› The Very Hungry Caterpillar: Families made snow globes featuring the foods from the story.

It was a fun and engaging evening that really brought literacy to life for our families.

We prioritize partnership with families because we know that while we provide the classroom, parents and caregivers are the true experts and lifelong teachers of their children.
