Years ago, Carol and Bob Griffin gave OneQuest Health an entire fleet of vehicles. Every day, that fleet carries staff and clients to appointments across Northern Kentucky.

Last week, during the storm closure, that same fleet became the way we safely moved staff and clients between campuses.

"Our donors have our backs every single day, and we never saw that more clearly than we did during the very dark storms of last week," said Rick Wurth, our CEO.

Generosity like this shows up when you need it most. Thank you, Carol and Bob. 🚐💚

Every day, families in our community carry the weight of behavioral health and substance use challenges quietly, in doctor's offices, courtrooms, classrooms, and workplaces. That weight is real. It's just rarely counted.

We're partnering with Northern Kentucky University's Center for Economic Analysis and Development to change that. The research will be led by Janet Harrah, Executive Director of Outreach and Senior Director of CEAD, whose team specializes in turning regional data into tools policymakers and community leaders can actually use.

Together, we're studying the true economic impact of these challenges across our region, and what it could mean if more people had access to prevention, intervention, and recovery support.

"OneQuest Health was built on the idea that behavioral health is a community-wide issue, not just an individual one," said Rick Wurth, CEO and Chief Philanthropy Officer.

This study, made possible through the generosity of Board member Dr. Dorothy Air and her spouse Dr. Gordon W. Air, will give our region's leaders something they've never had before: a clear, credible picture of what investing in care could mean for all of us.

The final report, executive summary, and stakeholder presentation are expected in January 2027.

When the power went out at our main campus for four days, our care teams didn't stop.

Clients and staff relocated to our Burlington campus, where generators kept life-safety systems and round-the-clock care running the entire time.

"There were no critical incidents at any location throughout the closures or the relocation," said Crystal Leugers, our Chief Programming Officer. "That outcome was not luck. It was preparation."

To every team member who made that possible — thank you. 💪

Congratulations to the 8th Annual Northern Kentucky Business Hall of Fame inductees!

NKY Magazine honored four individuals whose business and civic leadership have shaped our region for decades: Rich Boehne (The E.W. Scripps Company), Bob Hoffer (DBL Law), Bob Heil (KLH Engineers / LaunchNKY Center for Civic Leadership), and Gordon Martin, honored posthumously for his decades of leadership in the homebuilding industry.

We're especially proud to congratulate Robert Heil, who serves on our own Board of Trustees and Bob Hoffer, our longtime business partner with DBL Law, and to recognize the Martin family's decades of leadership and philanthropy in this region.

Congratulations to all four inductees on a legacy well earned. 🎉

Last Tuesday, a derecho tore through Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. It knocked out power at our main campus in Devou Park for four days and without generator capacity, the main campus could not safely continue operations. Our internet just came back online today, six days later.

Here's what didn't go down: our people! Advance emergency planning, generators at our Burlington campus, and a team that knew exactly what role to play kept every client and staff member safe throughout.

We didn't get through it alone, either. "State Representative Stephanie A. Dietz was personally engaged with us throughout the closure, and she helped connect our leadership with the right people at the right moments," Rick Wurth, CEO and Chief Philanthropy Officer, said. "Duke Energy Corporation, altafiber, and the City of Covington, Kentucky were all tremendous partners. When fallen trees and branches blocked access to our main campus, the City of Covington had crews on site within a very short window. Covington Mayor Ron Washington and his team were there for us."

We'll be sharing more this week about how our teams pulled together and what we're doing next.

Just 6 more hours to become a Quest Companion today. 💚

Last week, a young mom walked into our 5th Street Outpatient Center with her scared, overwhelmed child. Before they could even sit down, a staff member was right there, gentle and unhurried. Thirty seconds later, the fear in the room had eased.

A visitor who saw it happen told us: "That family did not have to carry their fear alone."

That's our Associates, every day. Gifts like these make moments like that possible.

Our founder, Amos Shinkle, would be 208 years old today. We think he'd be proud of what his legacy has become.

He built one of the engineering marvels of his century, the Roebling Suspension Bridge. He helped found churches, served on the school board, and stood up for the vulnerable in his community.

We're carrying that forward every day: every therapist, every associate, every care plan that connects a family to what they need.

Today is Founder's Day at OneQuest Health, the birthday of Amos Shinkle, who founded our organization in 1880.

Shinkle built a successful coal and steamboat business here in Covington and even helped fund the Roebling Suspension Bridge. But what he's remembered for with us started with something smaller: on his travels along the Ohio River, he saw children without parents, and he used his own money to buy a lot on Madison Avenue and start an orphanage.

That single act of care grew, through decades and name changes, into the organization families lean on today.

One of those families recently shared this with us:

"Before we came to OneQuest, Billy* struggled to take accountability, much less communicate what he was feeling. Now he is much more open, willing to ask for help, and share what he feels went wrong in an interaction that caused him to react the way he did."

That's the work our therapists, clinicians, and associates do every day, for every family who walks through our doors.

Today, on Founder's Day, we're launching Quest Companions, our new monthly giving program. Reimbursement and insurance cover the basics of care, but not the whole picture. Your gift helps us raise the $600,000 needed to close that gap, funding round-the-clock residential care, in-home services, school-based support, and outpatient care that meets families wherever they are.

Andre and Elvis gave two of NKY's top leaders the best meeting they've had all year. Mayor Ron Washington and Commissioner James Toebbe stopped by our Devou Park campus for something we don't prescribe nearly enough: a real mental health break. Equine-assisted therapy isn't just beautiful, it's science. Horses respond to emotional regulation, not rank. They build presence, calm the nervous system, and cut through stress in ways that surprise even the most skeptical visitor. This is what proactive, whole-person care looks like. Mind. Body. Open sky. Thank you, Mayor Washington and Commission
