Our Open House is next Tuesday, 8/13, at 6:30 pm. We are excited about kicking off our new program year! Join us at the ROC building at First Baptist Church Covington.

Troop leaders just met together to plan, pray and prepare for the new year. We're excited for what God has in store, and for all the fun that is ahead! Camping, pinewood derby, shooting events, values lessons, sports, fires, friendships. A play for boys to be boys.

We just wrapped up an amazing Spring semester with our first ever South Louisiana Area campout. We joined two other troops for a two-night trip full of canoeing, sports, water slides, fire competitions, and Godly male fellowship. We just got back from our third camping trip of the semester. This time it was Mountain Lions and Navigators at Hunt Lake. We earned joining awards, Recruit rank and Fireguard awards. Trailmen also cooked their own breakfast and lunch. Highlight was sitting around the bonfire with the dads sharing stories with their sons of real men doing acts of courage and bravery.

We had a great Hit the Trail event this weekend at the LIGO Observatory in Livingston, LA. An amazing research facility with a fun science center. This was for our Science & Technology branch.

"For the Word of God its living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12)" Great job tonight by our chaplain engaging our Trailmen and bringing this scripture to life.
Our Trailmen did archery, built catapults and more tonight as part of our lesson on Ancient Weapons as part of our Science & Technology branch.

We had a great time on our sunset hike at the Big Branch Marsh NWR. About 50 Trailmen and their parents enjoyed God's creation on our first Hit the Trail event of our new year.

Thank you to all who joined us for our open house tonight. We had 30+ new families come out to learn more and get plugged into our troop! Looking forward to our first meeting next week.

20 members of our troop just returned from a weekend campout on the USS Alabama. We joined other Trail Life troops and spent the night on the ship, sleeping in the sailor bunks and having a scavenger hunt. In the morning, we had a father-son worship service beside the ship (pictured here). Check out Trail Life at www.traillifeusa.com.

We are looking forward to our Summer Adventure next weekend! We will be joining with 14 other troops (270 people total!) for a Trail Life camping even on the USS Alabama! Can’t wait to play battleship on a battleship!

Wow - where did the year go? We were so busy having fun camping, meeting, visiting battlefields, building robots, serving our neighbors, learning about God and playin together that we never updated this page! We have much to rejoice about last year - we had more than 60 boys continue to mature as Godly men.
