It's that time of year again! The time when the thoughts of all 4-Hers are of wrapping up the program year and tallying up their progress on their Points Sheets! Mark your calendars, because the Points Sheets will be due in the Extension Office by Tuesday, September 1st!

If you do not have a Points Sheet you can also pick one up at the Extension Office during regular business hours.
Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.

If you can't drop off your Point Sheet during our office hours, feel free to drop it in our convenient drop box just outside the Extension Office doors.

Do you have a fun idea for a 4-H T-shirt?
Enter your design in the 4-H Above and Beyond T-shirt design contest!
Please submit your design to the Harrison County Purdue Extension Office by September 1st. You may submit a hard copy in person or electronically through email to [email protected] and [email protected]
Above and Beyond T-shirts are given to Harrison County 4-H members who earn 500 points through participating in various 4-H projects and activities throughout the program year. Point Sheets are due to the office on September 1st to be counted for this and other awards!
The Above and Beyond Awards are provided by Kellum's Imprints in Ramsey.

You're invited to the Harrison County 4-H Awards Banquet on October 20th at 6:00 PM, hosted at the Windell Agricultural Building at the Harrison County Fairgrounds in Corydon. Join us for an evening of recognition as we celebrate the achievements of our outstanding 4-H youth and the dedication of our volunteers. Enjoy a delicious dinner catered by Schnitzelbank. Over 50 attendees from 5 counties participated in the Harrison County Cattlemen's Associations Field Day on Saturday, August 22nd.

Craig and Chad Simpson, Farm Operators, discussed the history of the farm and how the operations were started as well as the cattle operation and what practices they use.

Maddox Baker with Zoetis discussed common cattle parasites and different ways of treating them depending on your operation. New world screw worm was also discussed and how this spreads and treatment methods.

Grace Boyd, Ironsides Animal Health discussed vaccinations within cattle and at what ages to give these vaccinations, how often, and recommendations on what to treat for.

Ariel Camm-Wilson and Danielle Walker discussed Purdue Extension and resources that are available.

Cattlemen’s Members cooked a ribeye’s lunch.
This was a great event for cattle farmers to learn from one another and ways to improve their overall herds.
