Our mission at Genesis House is to foster long-term recovery for women addicted to alcohol and other substances, thus improving the quality of life in our community by improving the quality of life for individual community members.
It's a classic ripple effect. We help a woman become who she was always meant to be and in turn she goes out and helps others in her community.
We are so proud of all of our graduates, but it's announcements like these that make our hearts smile.
Kindell has been promoted to Wellness Coordinator at the Harrison county YMCA!
Our ladies have been attending class with her a few times a month and it's been a great addition to our program.

The days are long and the noise level is high, but each day brings so much joy.

Tonight we had the honor of welcoming our 83rd and 84th graduates, Miss Marla and Miss Shelby.
They have put in the work and accomplished so many incredible things during their stay.
Congratulations ladies, keep working your program and stacking days in recovery;
It certainly looks good on you.
Also shout out to the 16 graduates that showed up to support this women. We are lucky to have such an incredible army of women in recovery to continue reaching out and pouring back in.
We hope to see Marla and Shelbs add to them.

Holiday world 2026 Part two:
I'm sure more photos will be dropped to me tomorrow to upload, but for now just know--
We lost our breath laughing, lost our voices screaming, lost our friends, our phones (Tiffany) and even our clothes and shoes (Leighann).... And I'll never forget- our lunchmeat! ( Lauren and Alyssa!)
But we had the best moments. We bonded. We made memories. We opened and closed the park again for the 3rd year in a row. We picnicked in parking lots and ended the night with a gorgeous sunset and fireworks, a missed turn, a u turn with imaginary mcdoubles and the most ridiculous van ride ever.
I love half way house life for real!

2026 Holiday world in the books!
To say that we had a great day would be an understatement.
The alum put on several fundraisers to support the ladies taking trips like this throughout the year. We are grateful to everyone who has donated, had their yards egged, their cars washed in thunderstorms, showed up to yard sales in hurricane winds and rains and loved our ladies enough to make this trip possible.
The smiles, the laughs, the ridiculous banter and the stories they will tell for years to come are priceless.
Life's a rollercoaster. You won't like them all. But once you're on you're on. Just ride with all the punches, all the ups and downs, twists and turns, all the screams, the laughter and the friends.
