Despite the weather forecast of possible severe storms, The Hoosier Elm Chapter NSDAR, along with several HODARS, held its annual Flag Retirement Ceremony today. Almost 300 U. S. Flags were properly retired. As the last Flag was consumed, the rain started to fall. Many Thanks to all who participated and assisted in inspecting and preparing the Flags. Also Thanks to O'Bannon Woods for allowing us to have the service.

COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD
The Hoosier Elm Chapter is proud to present the Community Service Award to Bruce Fisher. Bruce volunteers about 25 hours each week. Bruce was the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Volunteer of the Year in 2021. Bruce also assists in making and handing out food boxes for the county shut-ins. DAR members Kynne Keasking and Chris Fisher made the presentation. Congratulations to Bruce!

Due to some unforeseen issues, we have made the decision to cancel the September 2 meeting.
Our treasurer will be at the Genealogy Library on September 18 from 10am to 3pm to collect dues.
