🎨 MEET K SPACE CONTEMPORARY

Unfortunately, The Council on Alcohol & Drug Abuse Coastal Bend is unable to join us at our upcoming meeting. We appreciate the important work they do in our community and wish them the best.

We're pleased to welcome K Space Contemporary as our new presenting charity!

Art brings people together, sparks new ideas, and helps us see our community through a different lens. This quarter, we're excited to introduce K Space Contemporary, a nonprofit arts organization making a lasting impact on Corpus Christi's and South Texas's cultural landscape!

Located in downtown Corpus Christi, K Space hosts 18–20 exhibitions each year, featuring regional and national artists. Its artist-centered mission gives emerging and mid-career artists opportunities to exhibit their work, grow professionally, and connect with new audiences.

🎨 MORE THAN A GALLERY
✨Arts Education: Workshops, lectures, figure drawing, teen art programs, summer mural programs, and outreach to schools and community organizations.
✨ Public Art: Their Mural Arts Program has completed 28 public artworks, adding creativity and color to shared community spaces.
✨ Community Celebrations: K Space helped establish Corpus Christi's First Friday ArtWalk in 2009 and plays a key role in the city's celebrated Dia de los Mu***os Festival.
✨ Supporting Local Artists: Their storefront gift shop features handmade creations by local artists and artisans, helping connect creative talent with the community.

Because investing in the arts means investing in our artists, our young people, our culture, and the future of our community.

💗MEET MY DIRECT OBSTETRIC CARE (MyDOC.org)
Quarterly Meeting >>> November 10th >>> Members Only Event

Every mother deserves access to quality prenatal care, and every baby deserves the best possible start in life. Yet for many women in our community, the cost of care can be a significant barrier. 💗

We're proud to introduce My Direct Obstetric Care (My DOC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit medical clinic in Corpus Christi dedicated to providing free, evidence-based prenatal care to uninsured and underinsured pregnant women throughout the Coastal Bend.

✨ WHY THEIR MISSION MATTERS - Texas has one of the highest rates of uninsured residents in the nation. Without health insurance, women may delay prenatal care, increasing the risk of complications for both mothers and babies.

💗 Their services include:

- Prenatal appointments and individualized physician care
- Diagnostic ultrasound imaging
- Laboratory testing
- Postpartum care
- Educational classes that empower women to make informed decisions about their health and pregnancy

Beyond medical services, My DOC helps women connect with community resources, build stronger relationships with their healthcare providers, and access the knowledge and support they need throughout pregnancy.

Their goal is to reduce preventable complications, promote healthier pregnancies, and help ensure that financial circumstances never stand in the way of essential prenatal care.

>>> MEET THE BIG BERTHA FOUNDATION
Quartery Meeting >>> November 10th >>> Members Only Event

Some of the most meaningful missions begin in our darkest moments. For Pete Treviño, founder of Big Bertha BBQ Pit and the Big Bertha Foundation, that moment came in 2010 when he lost his father.

Faced with the heartbreaking challenge of laying his father to rest, Pete organized a BBQ benefit out of desperation. What began as a personal struggle became a promise: to help other families facing difficult moments when they need support the most.

And from that promise, Big Bertha became a symbol of love, hope, and community. ❤️

Today, the Big Bertha Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to bringing people together through acts of service and compassion. From helping families in need to providing scholarships and disaster relief, the foundation continues to turn meals into meaningful impact.

What started with heartbreak has grown into a lasting legacy of generosity, proving that even in our hardest moments, something beautiful can grow when people come together to help one another.

✨ We are honored to welcome the Big Bertha Foundation as a presenting charity at our upcoming 100 Women of the Coastal Bend meeting!
