Our Members Only Excursion is filling up fast. Can you guess where we're going from the below clues?

Share your guess in the comments.

Clue #1 This special place protects more than 10,000 acres of wetlands, prairie, bay shoreline, and riparian habitat.

Clue #2 It has existed for thousands of years, historically supporting the Karankawa people, migratory birds, fisheries, and ranching operations.

Clue #3 Long before modern maps, this area was shaped by the shifting waters of the Nueces River & remains vital to the health of our bays today. Hint: It's not a beach. It's not an island. It's not a park.

A legacy isn't built in a day—it grows across generations.

For nearly 20 years, Lifetime Member Colleen Johnson has supported the Coastal Bend Bays Foundation's mission through participation, leadership, and advocacy. Her commitment helps ensure that future generations will enjoy the same healthy bays, estuaries, and coastal resources that we cherish today.

This June, as we celebrate our members, we're reminded that membership is more than a contribution—it's an investment in the future of our coastal communities.

Join us in creating a lasting legacy for the Coastal Bend.

250 million years ago… our Coastal Bend looked wildly different. 🌎🦖

Before the ships, bridges, and skylines… giant prehistoric creatures roamed what would eventually become the Gulf Coast we know and love today. Imagine standing where dinosaurs once walked and ancient seas once stretched endlessly across this region.

Join us for our next Coastal Issues Forum and take a fascinating journey through the ancient history of the Gulf of Mexico with Randy Bissell. From prehistoric life to the formation of our coastal waters, this is the kind of story that sparks curiosity for every generation.

Bring the whole family, a friend, your favorite history buff — or simply your curious heart. 💫

Earth Day may come once a year, but its message is something we can carry with us every day. Let’s continue celebrating by being mindful stewards of our planet, taking small, meaningful actions that help protect and preserve the environment we all share.

We’re proud to have recently hosted the 27th Annual Earth Day Bay Day here in the Coastal Bend, welcoming more than 80 exhibitors and vendors and over 8,500 attendees. The event was a powerful reminder of the incredible organizations in our community that are dedicated to conserving and protecting the coastal and natural resources that make our region so special. From local nonprofits to passionate volunteers, Earth Day Bay Day showcased just how much impact can be made when a community comes together for a common cause. It also served as inspiration for each of us, because it’s never too late to get involved. Whether it’s reducing waste, supporting local conservation efforts, or simply spreading awareness, everyone has a role to play.

Together, we can continue to make a difference and ensure a healthier, more sustainable future for the Coastal Bend and beyond.
