🚨 TRAIL USERS — REMEMBER THE SAFE PASSING CARD! 🚨

A safer, more welcoming trail experience starts with one simple message:

👉 Slow Down. Say Hello.

The NH Horse Council proudly supports the Safe Passing Campaign, a collaborative effort among trail organizations across New Hampshire to promote respect, awareness, and safety on shared trails.

👣 🚴‍♀️ 🐎 🛷 Whether you’re a hiker, biker, equestrian, OHRVer, snowmobiler, or musher, we all share the trail — and we can all do our part to make passing safer and more courteous.

🟨 The Safe Passing Card reminds trail users to:
✅ Slow down when approaching others
✅ Communicate kindly — say hello!
✅ Pass safely and respectfully

📣 Help spread the word! Share the Safe Passing Card at trailheads, kiosks, barns, and online, and help introduce more trail users to the “Slow Down. Say Hello.” message.

🌟 Want to learn more about the Safe Passing Campaign and find resources to share? Visit: nhhorsecouncil.org/nh-trails-committee/nh-trail-riding/

Together, we can create safer, more respectful trails for everyone. 💛

🚨 IMPORTANT TRAIL CLOSING NOTICE & WINTER RIDING INFO 🚨

As the fall riding season winds down, we want to make sure everyone is prepared for upcoming trail transitions!

🍂 OHRV Trail Closings: Please keep an eye on official closing dates across the network. Many summer/fall OHRV trails begin closing for hunting, seasonal maintenance, freeze/thaw protection, and landowner agreements as winter approaches.

❄️ Winter Riding Options: Don't park your machines just yet! New Hampshire offers fantastic winter OHRV riding opportunities once snow and trail conditions allow. 32° degree and below for riding requested.

🛤️ Open 365 Days a Year: Did you know? We have 3 STATE OWNED RAIL TRAILS that remain open for riding 365 days a year!

Before you head out, always double-check local conditions, respect private landowners, and verify trail accessibility.
👉 Check full trail conditions and live updates on our status page:

🚨Love riding New Hampshire’s trails⁉️

🛎♥️Help protect them. Nearly 80% of our OHRV trails exist on private or municipal land, and without proper maintenance they can be closed at any time 🚫. Clubs rely on membership and donations to keep these trails safe, legal, and open for everyone. 🟢

🏁 ♥️ If you ride, please join an NHOHVA club or donate to the club that maintains the trails you enjoy. Your support keeps access alive, keeps landowners confident in our stewardship, and keeps the sport thriving for future generations.⛏️🚧=💲

💯 Be part of the reason the trails stay open.🧭

FYI, the state owned Pisgah State Park only allows 50" OHRVs max. Even if a gate it left open it's still 50" max on State owned and leased trails in Southern NH.

MT. PISGAH trail side update.....

It has been brought to our attention that there have been some machines larger then 50" width spot on the Pisgah Trails. Please note these are not allowed on that trail system. The state will start locking gates to prevent further issues with machines of this size.

If your machine is larger then 50" please use the Hinsdale side of our trail system located at 70 Taryn Lane, Hinsdale.
