American Legion page Rules
Our Purpose
This page exists to support the mission of the American Legion, promote camaraderie among veterans and their families, share Legion activities and community information, and provide a respectful place for members and bona fide guests to communicate.
1. Respect Our Officers, Management, and Members
Disagreements and constructive criticism are welcome. However, personal attacks, insults, degrading comments, harassment, or disrespect directed toward Post officers, management, employees, volunteers, members, or guests will not be tolerated.
2. Criticism Must Be Constructive
Members are encouraged to raise legitimate concerns through respectful discussion. Posts intended to embarrass, humiliate, discredit, or personally attack an individual are not appropriate for this page.
3. No Personal Attacks
Comments or posts containing name-calling, ridicule, threats, intimidation, accusations presented as fact without supporting information, or attacks on someone’s character may be removed.
4. Keep Legion Business Professional
Concerns regarding Post operations, officers, management, finances, personnel, or internal matters should be brought through the appropriate Legion channels rather than turned into public Facebook disputes.
5. No Harassment or Repeated Disruption
Repeatedly posting inflammatory, hostile, or degrading material after being asked to stop may result in removal from the page.
6. Enforcement
Administrators reserve the right to remove posts or comments that violate these rules. Depending on the seriousness or frequency of the violation, consequences may include:
• Removal of the comment or post
• A warning
• Temporary restriction from participating
• Removal or banning from the page
Serious threats, harassment, or other conduct that may violate the law may be reported to the appropriate authorities.
7. Rules Apply Equally
These rules apply to everyone, regardless of membership status, position, rank, or relationship with the Post. Officers and management are expected to follow the same standards of respectful conduct.
Our Standard
You may disagree. You may question decisions. You may raise concerns. You may criticize policies.
You may not use this page to personally attack, degrade, harass, or humiliate another person.
We ask everyone to remember that the American Legion is built on service, honor, respect, and camaraderie. Please help us maintain a page that reflects those values.
