Our Antioch team had the opportunity to speak with Marcus who told us he has been in and out of jail for the last 30 years, and is still struggling to stay out of jail. Marcus said his father was a pastor and he sang in the choir when he was younger. One of our volunteers noticed that Marcus was wearing mismatched shoes, and our volunteer felt led to give Marcus the shoes he was wearing. We shared the gospel with Marcus and prayed for him. We also prayed that every time Marcus looks at his shoes, that he may be reminded that there is family in Christ praying for him. Please pray with us that Marcus would turn to the Lord in faith and repentance, with a desire to follow Christ.

Our Vallejo team had the opportunity to speak with Luis (not shown). Luis opened up about his past sin and his history of crime. Luis asked if he could continue to sin, and then repeatedly just ask the Lord for forgiveness. We were so encouraged by his openness and honesty regarding his past and repeated sin. We had a lengthy conversation with him, repeatedly pointing him back to the Bible and what it says about faith and repentance. We prayed for him and offered him a Bible, but he has difficulty reading. Luis expressed interest in attending a nearby church and attending a future Bible study with us. Please pray with us that the Lord opens Luis' eyes to true repentance and a desire to follow Christ. We pray that we are able to have a continued gospel witness and for the opportunity to study the Bible with him.

Our Martinez team had the opportunity to speak with Shavonne (not shown). She said she has four daughters, whom she would love to get reconnected with. She misses them deeply. Shavonne wept while she shared her painful story with us, said she believes in Jesus, but has a hard time believing that the Bible is inerrant or inspired by God. We presented her with the gospel, and explained that confessing her sin to the Lord, following Him and becoming His disciple all would be done in obedience to Him. We provided her with a Bible and she expressed a desire to find a church to attend. Please pray with us that the Lord would soften her heart to the truths of God's Word. We pray for the Lord to comfort her, and that she might truly have both a desire and strength to follow Christ.

Our Central Concord team had the opportunity to speak with Christian. He was recently released from jail and has no place to go, has been on the streets for a few months now and is coping with some hard trials in his life. Christian said he has been reading the Bible that we previously gave to him, and added that sometimes it feels as if it's the only thing he has in life. Please pray with us that the Lord strengthens and encourages him. Pray that he clings to God's Word, and for him to fully trust in and cast his worries upon the Lord.

Our Vallejo team had the opportunity to speak with David. David is hurting emotionally, and has numerous self-inflicted scars. David was resistant toward gospel conversation, and refused to take a Bible, because he believes it is incomplete. We explained to David that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God. The conversation was tough, David argued a bit, but he did let us pray for him. Through this prayer, David was able to hear the gospel and heard of God's free gift of salvation. David's heart seemed to soften a bit during the conversation. Please pray with us that the Lord may soften his heart toward future gospel conversation, and open his eyes to the truth of God's character. We pray for his freedom from drug addiction, for his protection, and that the Lord may be glorified through our witness to him.

Our North Concord team had the opportunity to speak with Ryan. Ryan said he is a believer and reads the Bible, but has never made a decision to follow Christ. Ryan said he is hesitant, due to all of the suffering in the world, and questioned why God's wrath occurs. Our team gave him a gospel tract that tackles this very topic. We explained to Ryan that the cause of suffering is sin, that God allows suffering to draw us closer to Him, and that there needs to be justice for sin. We presented the gospel to Ryan, encouraging him to place his trust in and follow Jesus. We asked Ryan to continue reading his Bible and we prayed for him. Please pray with us that the Lord would give saving faith to Ryan, and lead him to live a life of obedience in Christ.

Our Antioch team had the opportunity to speak with Sara. Sara has participated in a Bible study with us in the past. We had a good conversation with her, and she opened up a lot about her life. Sara believes there must be a higher power, because she had thought of ending her life on numerous occasions and had been stopped each time. Our team was able to share with her that no matter how bad things are in life, Jesus is our sure hope, and that He is waiting for her to trust and let Him guide her through her hard times. We were able to share the gospel with her, and repeatedly pointed her to Christ. Please pray with us that she would desire to participate in more Bible study sessions with us, that we are able to reconnect with her, and that she finds comfort and hope in our Savior.

Our Antioch team had the opportunity to speak with Chris, Bianca, Esteban and Danny. We had a good conversation with Chris and Esteban, and we were able to share the gospel with them. Chris and Esteban could articulate that they knew they shouldn't be making certain life choices, including the use of drugs. Chris recognizes that drug use has negatively affected her mental health and is requesting prayer. We pray that their conviction leads them to desire help for their addiction struggles, for their mental health and most importantly a desire to follow Him.

Our Martinez team had the opportunity to speak with Kevin (shown) and Frankie. Kevin was not very coherent but said he has been living on the streets for 45 years, and cannot imagine not being on the streets. Kevin requested the team to read him a devotion from Our Daily Bread, but then repeatedly interrupted while they were trying to share the gospel with him. Kevin refused prayer and would not accept any Bible or resources that were offered. Frankie explained that he found himself homeless after having problems with a past girlfriend. The team prayed with Frankie and provided him with a copy of Our Daily Bread. Please pray with us that the Lord would soften Kevin's heart to future gospel conversations. Please also pray that Frankie would have the desire to follow Christ, and the conviction that leads him to read his devotional.
