Congratulations to Dr. Ravinder Kang, one of this year’s Southern NH Area Health Education Center Healthcare Heroes! Dr. Kang was nominated by Amanda Higgins, a 2025 Healthcare Hero herself, making this recognition an especially meaningful one.

Dr. Thadeus Trus, General Surgery Section Chief at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, also shared a welcome and words celebrating Dr. Kang’s work and contributions to the health care community.

Southern New Hampshire Health is expanding access to advanced care with a new in-house PET/CT scanner, one of just three in New Hampshire!

The technology can help doctors detect cancer at the cellular level and identify other conditions, including Parkinson’s disease, dementia, and tumors, potentially allowing for earlier diagnosis and treatment.

Since its arrival, the new scanner has already increased the hospital’s annual exam volume by more than 16%, bringing advanced imaging closer to home for more patients.

The recognition comes alongside another reason to celebrate: three Dartmouth Health employees were named 2026 New Hampshire Healthcare Heroes for their compassion, leadership, and dedication to the patients and communities they serve. Together, these honors shine a light on the strength and excellence of New Hampshire’s health care workforce!

A step forward for housing in New Hampshire! A new federal housing law could bring some positive changes to New Hampshire’s housing landscape, giving developers more flexibility and creating new incentives to build affordable homes.

The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act could help lower construction costs for manufactured homes, protect rental assistance for rural residents, streamline environmental reviews, and increase investment in affordable housing.

With housing affordability remaining a major challenge across the state, these changes could help make homeownership and stable housing more attainable for more New Hampshire residents.

Our friends at The Manchester Diaper Pantry are working to address a critical need for families across . As the region’s largest diaper pantry, the organization provides diapers and wipes to approximately 150–200 children each month, regardless of a family’s income, housing status, race, or background.

This profile highlights the pantry’s volunteer-driven work, the often-overlooked challenge of diaper access, and its commitment to creating a welcoming, judgment-free resource for local families.
