🎓 Congratulations to our Spring 2026 Carpentry Apprenticeship graduates! 🔨

Last night, we had the honor of celebrating the hard work and dedication of this incredible class at their graduation ceremony at Manchester Community College.

As the proud sponsor of this Carpentry Apprenticeship Program, we couldn't be more proud of what these graduates have accomplished. They've built the skills, knowledge, and work ethic to thrive in the carpentry trade, and we can't wait to see everything they build next.

Thank you to our partners at Apprenticeship NH, Manchester Community College WDC, and North Branch Construction for making this program possible. Here's to the next generation of skilled tradespeople in New Hampshire! 🏗️

Construction safety trends are worth paying attention to. A recent Construction Executive article analyzing 2025 safety incident data highlights when and where incidents are most likely to happen — including a noticeable spike mid-morning, as crews shift from planning into active work. https://constructionexec.com/article/where-when-how-analyzing-2025-construction-safety-incidents/

At ABC NH/VT, this kind of data reinforces why we emphasize daily safety conversations, situational awareness, and speaking up on the jobsite. Understanding patterns helps crews stay focused, especially during transitions when risk can increase.

Safety isn’t one policy or one moment — it’s an ongoing practice, every day, on every site.

Is 9:00 A.M. the new midnight? Report reveals why it's a dangerous time on construction jobsites.

Toolbox Talk: Slips, Trips & Falls — Stay Sharp on the Jobsite

Slips, trips, and falls are some of the most common — and serious — hazards on construction sites. These incidents can lead to broken bones, sprains, back injuries, and even head injuries if we don’t stay aware.

Common causes include:
• Wet, icy, or oily surfaces
• Uneven ground or changes in elevation
• Cluttered walkways and loose materials
• Poor lighting
• Cords, hoses, and tools left in walking paths
• Weather conditions like rain, snow, and ice

How to reduce the risk:
• Keep work areas clean and organized
• Clean up spills immediately or mark them until they can be addressed
• Store tools, cords, and materials out of walkways
• Wear proper slip-resistant footwear and inspect it regularly
• Ensure adequate lighting in work areas
• Slow down and watch where you step

Reminder:
If you notice a slip, trip, or fall hazard, report it right away so it can be corrected before someone gets hurt.

Safety is everyone’s responsibility. Staying aware helps keep the entire crew safe.

❄️ Winter Toolbox Talk: Dress Smart for Cold Weather ❄️

Cold temps can impact your senses, reaction time, and productivity on the jobsite. The right clothing makes all the difference.

✔️ Dress in layers — snug inner layers, looser outer layers to trap heat
✔️ Use a wind-resistant outer layer
✔️ Don’t over-bundle — overheating leads to sweat
✔️ If you get warm, remove a layer
✔️ Keep clothing dry — wet gear won’t protect you from the cold
✔️ Wear head protection — a lot of body heat is lost through your head
✔️ Protect your feet — wool socks and proper footwear matter
✔️ Layer your gloves — thin wool under leather works best

Staying warm helps you stay safe, focused, and productive all winter long. 🦺 Learn more at https://www.abcnhvt.org/Safety/Safety-Resources-Best-Practices/Toolbox-Talks
