This Memorial Day, GSIL pauses to honor and remember the servicemembers who gave their lives in defense of our nation. Their sacrifice and devotion will never be forgotten.

Adam thrived in the small-class environment at IMPACCT Academy, where his strong work ethic stood out. He maintained nearly perfect attendance throughout the cohort and made significant growth in self-advocacy in the classroom, at the workplace, and at home. Adam challenged himself to stay on track and successfully achieved his goal of earning all five IMPACCT credits.

For his work experience, Adam trained at Central Park Express, where he pursued his interest in working with cars, especially diesel trucks. There, he assisted with oil changes, tire rotations, brake replacements, and wheel alignments. Adam excelled in the workplace, becoming an active and dependable member of the team, always ready to help where needed. By the end of the session, he worked so seamlessly alongside staff that he was indistinguishable from the rest of the team as they serviced customer vehicles.

His strong performance earned him an offer for a part-time position at Central Park Express — an opportunity he is considering pursuing.

Nearly 30 years strong, REM (Refurbished Equipment Marketplace) continues to help people with disabilities access affordable durable medical equipment that supports independence.

We’re currently hiring a Lead Durable Medical Equipment Technician to help lead the next chapter of this important program.

This hands-on role oversees daily operations of the REM shop, helping ensure equipment is safely refurbished, maintained, and distributed to those who need it most. Responsibilities include customer service and sales, basic computer support, and equipment pickup and delivery.

Rain may have fallen on last Friday’s celebration, but it didn’t dampen the excitement as GSIL joined Forest Society staff and board members, Concord Mayor Byron Champlin, community partners, and donors to officially open the newly accessible Les Clark Nature Trail in Concord!

This project came to life through the collaboration and dedication of the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests, grant partners, local sponsors, donors, and community organizations all working together to make the outdoors more accessible for everyone.

GSIL was proud to help make this project possible with a contribution that finalized the funding needed to complete the trail upgrades. What was once inaccessible to many is now a welcoming outdoor space designed for people using wheelchairs, those with mobility challenges, families with strollers, and others who benefit from a smoother, more inclusive trail experience.

This project is a beautiful example of our mission in action: promoting quality of life with independence for people with disabilities by helping create spaces where everyone can connect with nature, community, and each other.
