🚨 Horrific News for Law Enforcement 🚨

On Christmas morning, Corrections Officer Andrew Lansing, a 62-year-old corrections officer at the Ross Correctional Institution in Chillicothe, was killed by an inmate. This is an appalling tragedy for the officer’s family and loved ones, and it highlights the dangers faced by those in law enforcement every day.

With over two decades of service, Officer Lansing was respected by his colleagues. Annette Chambers-Smith, director of the Ohio DRC, expressed the profound impact of this loss, calling it “beyond comprehension.”

The inmate responsible has been transferred, but that doesn’t change the reality of this senseless act. Our thoughts are firmly with the officer’s family during this devastating time. This incident underscores the urgent need for better protections for those who serve in our correctional facilities.

On behalf of the Fraternal Order of Police, Capital of NH lodge 10, I would like to express our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of NH State Police Staff Sergeant Jesse Sherrill.

This morning, Staff Sgt. Sherrill's cruiser was struck by a tractor trailer on I-95 and he was killed.

To our brothers and sisters in the NH State Police, we stand beside you in this time of sorrow and our prayers go out to you during this most difficult time.

Staff Sgt. Sherrill you will truly be missed by your family, friends, community, and all of us who were lucky enough to run alongside you while on patrol.

Saturday October 23rd, from 2PM to 6PM we'll be having a vaccine clinic here at the Boscawen Police Department. If you're looking for a vaccine, whether it be a first dose, second dose, or booster, we'll have it here. All three vaccines will be available, and there is no cost to receive one. Children 12-18 are also able to receive a vaccine, if they have are accompanied by a parent or guardian. Have a good day!

Update: The approval of Moderna and J&J booster shots on Thursday evening by the CDC doesn't leave enough time for the medical provider to acquire appropriate supplies and guidance, so for the clinic on Saturday, the only booster available will be Pfizer, for people who were initially given Pfizer vaccines. 3rd doses of Moderna and Pfizer will be available for people moderately to severely immunocompromised. There has been so much interest in this clinic, and boosters in particular, that we are working closely with the State and medical provider to schedule an additional clinic where all boosters will be available.
