LONG POST, TOTALLY WORTH THE READ! This past week has been nothing short of sacred.
We’ve had the honor and privilege of walking alongside and praying for a very special young woman—Sarah, or as you know her, “S.” For years and years, prayers have been lifted on her behalf. Seeds have been sown in love, in faith, and in hope. And this week… we watched her surrender everything to the Lord and step into a long-term program.
This one is especially close to my heart. (Cindy) Sarah and I go way back—been in the streets together, walked through some hard places, and shared moments only God could carry us through. For so long, I’ve prayed to see her truly free. And this week, I got to take her to a place where that freedom can begin to fully unfold, the place where I surrendered. It meant everything—to both of us.
The Lord actually orchestrated her being able to go to that particular program. Since she had missed two intake dates before, they were hesitant to accept her. But God moved in such a powerful way and put on Sarah's heart to call them back and when she did He opened that door for her and they said yes you come Tomorrow!
At intake I asked her something I’ll never forget: “Out of everything we’ve done, all the prayers, all the times we came and got you, all the unconditional love… what made the difference?”
Her answer stopped me in my tracks:
“You stayed clean. You stayed free. You stayed faithful to your walk with the Lord, when I heard you say a while back that you had almost 7 years in recovery it dawned on me that my years were going by as well but the only difference was that I was still in bo***ge and you were still free. That made me really stop and think."
That moment was humbling and powerful all at once. It reminded me that these women are watching. They’re watching how we live, how we walk, how we stay faithful—even when it’s hard. They’re paying attention, even when we don’t realize it. And deep down, they want what we have… they’re just not always sure they’re worthy of it yet.
But this week, we saw it—surrender. Real, beautiful surrender.
We also want to take a moment to say THANK YOU to every single person who has prayed for S over the years. Your prayers matter. Your donations matter. Your financial contributions matter. And this week is proof.
And as if that wasn’t enough, we also got to see Kandy (K) thriving—almost a year into her recovery! She was so excited to show us her baptism certificate and all the certificates she’s earned through her classes—especially her favorite, “I Want to Be Made Whole.”. She is so excited about her upcoming graduation and wants to stay on and work there.
Look at God. Look at God.
REDEEM Ministry is witnessing lives being changed— through faithful prayer, consistent love, and simply meeting these women right where they are.
God is moving. And we are so grateful to be a part of it. I know you are as well. 🩵🙌🦋🙏
