Praise God, my Mom's surgery was successful and she can come home from hospital.

Please Lord help me stay strong. i have 3 weeks clean, but its hard Lord.

I need to find a job on a bus route so i can get back and forth to work

My brother is still out on the streets getting high. I pray The Lord saves his soul. that's the only way he will get straight.

Volunteer Spotlight: Sam Lewis 🙌
Today we want to recognize Sam Lewis for the heart he has for serving others at Freedom House!
Every Wednesday morning, Sam faithfully leads devotions with the men at Freedom House, sharing the Word of God and reminding them of the hope we have through Jesus Christ. His consistency and willingness to pour into the lives of others is such a blessing.
Sam also serves the men in our shelter by helping them obtain identification through VoteRiders, removing barriers that can make it difficult to move forward.
Sam is always looking for ways to help. He serves with humility, compassion, and a genuine love for people and he is willing to step in wherever he can.
Sam, thank you for faithfully showing up, serving others, and sharing the hope of Christ! We are so grateful for you! ❤️

Today, we want to celebrate George, a faithful member of the Freedom House team who has been serving as a House Manager for the past two years.
George’s story with SafeHouse began at the Day Center, where he started volunteering and serving meals to others while he was still walking through struggles of his own. As he continued to show up and serve, seeds of love, hope, and faith were being planted in his life.
Eventually, George made the courageous decision to accept help from our shelter himself. Through that support, he began to find stability and move forward in his life. Then, an opportunity came for George to join our team as a staff member at Freedom House.
Today, George is on the other side of that journey—faithfully welcoming and serving men who are walking through many of the same struggles he once faced. He makes sure the men have what they need, offers encouragement, and openly shares his testimony of what Jesus has done in his own life.
George is kind, hardworking, dependable, and always ready to share a good word or lend a helping hand. His story is a beautiful reminder that God can take the places where we once needed help and use them as places where we can now help others.
George, thank you for allowing God to turn your story into a testimony and for faithfully serving the men of Freedom House. We are grateful for you and the hope you bring to others every day.

Before Grace House, I was searching for stability, hope, and a new beginning. My third journey at Grace House began in September 2025, and each of the three times I returned, I was welcomed with warmth, love, and open arms. Kristi, Kim, Shannon, and Jennifer always treated me with kindness, compassion, and a nonjudgmental heart. The rules at Grace House weren't there to hold me back—they were there to help me heal, grow, and become a better person. Grace House gave me a safe place to rest, an incredible recovery program through Tomorrow's Hope, and friendships that will last a lifetime. I am proud that I took charge of my life through Grace House and Tomorrow's Hope, and I will always be grateful for everything they so freely gave me. My hope is to one day give back the same love, support, and encouragement that changed my life.

We are so proud of Becky and how far she's come. Congratulations on your accomplishments in recovery and moving into your own place. God is not done yet!

While I was incarcerated, I prayed for an opportunity to get my life together. God heard my prayers, and by His grace I was accepted into Grace House through SafeHouse Ministries.

During my time in the program, I was able to get clean from drugs, learn how to live independently, and begin making healthier, life-changing decisions. The support, guidance, and encouragement I received gave me the foundation I needed to build a new future.

Today, I am living in my own place and celebrating eight months clean and sober. I am incredibly thankful for the people, places, and opportunities God has put in my life. He has helped me overcome years of addiction and incarceration and has shown me that lasting change is possible.

I am no longer defined by my past. Through God's grace and the support of SafeHouse Ministries, I am a new and better me.
