For Franklin County Parents:

Charity Newsies Clothing Assistance Program Application Opens June 1st.
The Charity Newsies clothing assistance application will open on Monday, June 1 at 9:00 a.m. Families in need of clothing assistance will be able to visit www.charitynewsies.org to complete the application for clothing assistance beginning on Monday morning, June 1.
Charity Newsies centers its mission on making sure that children in need have clothing for school. Charity Newsies provides brand new clothing to children in need from families:
at or below 200% of the federal poverty level, from Kindergarten through twelfth grade ($64,300 for a family of four);
reside or attend school in Franklin County;
attend in person schools
Each child will receive a brand new clothing package valued at over $150 consisting of six pairs of socks, underwear for the week, a coat, hat, gloves and three shirts and three pants. Should the child attend a school with a dress code, dress code compliant clothing will be provided. Children attending schools with a uniform with a logo will receive a full clothing package along with a voucher to use at a local uniform store for the items requiring a specific logo. Children attending vocational programs will receive assistance for uniforms associated with their vocational programs as well.

A special thank you to Congregation Agudas Achim in Bexley for their donation of fresh produce to NNEMAP last Friday. With their first foray into a produce donation, the congregation provided 237 pounds of carrots, potatoes, onions, zucchini, peppers, bananas, apples, oranges, strawberries, among other fruits and vegetables. We appreciate the congregation's effort for our families.

On this day 72 years ago, the US Supreme Court determined that racially segregated schools violated the equal protection clause of the 14th amendment and were, therefore, unconstitutional.

The landmark decision in Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka Kansas sparked a decade of civil rights reforms unlike anything our country had witnessed since the fires of Reconstruction smoldered to ashes a century before.

Sadly, many of the gains made in pursuit of access, opportunity and freedom for all people are under attack, as proven again by the Supreme Court's recent ruling on Voting Rights protections.

But America is not a country that retreats. We believe in freedom, liberty and justice for all. Temporary setbacks will become formidable setups for a better tomorrow. The spirit of Brown remains.

A FIFA World Cup 26 visitor at CMH today: American Airlines' specially designed Boeing 737-800 — their first-ever sports-themed livery, created in partnership with Qatar Airways as the Official North American Airline Supplier of the tournament.

The timing is fitting. Ecuador's Men's National Soccer Team has chosen Columbus as their official Team Base Camp for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and the squad will live and train at the OhioHealth Performance Center throughout the tournament. ⚽

A huge shout out to Columbus Humane for their donation of dog and cat food to NNEMAP on Monday. We now know that our van full of pet food weighs 1437 pounds. This is the start of a wonderful partnership allowing the pantry to offer dog and cat food on a consistent basis to our families. Thank you for including NNEMAP.
