We are thrilled to share the incredible impact of this year’s Taste of German Village and The Brewery District with you all 🎉

Thanks to the generosity and support of our amazing community, this year’s event brought in:

$35,319 in total revenue
$5,167.90 in expenses
$30,151.10 raised to support NNEMAP Food Pantry

The funds raised will go directly toward furthering NNEMAP’s mission to serve the evolving needs of our neighbors by providing nutritious food and connections to essential resources.

These numbers truly make a difference, and it’s all because of our wonderful network of sponsors, restaurant partners, guests, volunteers, board members, staff, and supporters 🙌

A special thank-you to everyone who attended and shared their photos and moments from the event with us. We love seeing Taste through your eyes and celebrating the community that makes this event so special.

Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, to enforce Abraham Lincoln’s order to end slavery in the rebelling state farthest west

It’s been observed as a day to honor this history and celebrate Black culture and resilience, and it officially became a federal holiday in 2021.

In observance of the holiday, our office will be closed on June 19th. We’ll be back on Monday, June 22nd. We hope you have a meaningful and joyful Juneteenth!

Behind every great event are the people who show up, pitch in, and make it happen. 💛

A huge thank you to our NNEMAP Board members, staff, and volunteers who helped bring Taste of German Village & The Brewery District together. From setup and check-in to auction items, restaurants, tear-down, and all the little details in between, this event required a team.

We also want to give a special shout-out to Terry Wilson, who generously donated his time and talent as our event photographer. Many may know Terry as one of the voices of WCBE, and we are so grateful he shared his talent behind the camera with NNEMAP.

Thank you, Terry, for capturing the heart of the day so beautifully. And thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible for NNEMAP Food Pantry and the neighbors we serve.

What a wonderful day at the Taste of German Village & The Brewery District!

Thank you to Grange Insurance for hosting us, Kroger, Costco, our emcee Gabrielle Phifer, and every restaurant, sponsor, volunteer, donor, and supporter who helped make the afternoon so special.

We loved spending the day with some of Columbus’s best restaurants and so many generous friends of NNEMAP Food Pantry.

We are still counting the final totals and will share results soon — but for now, enjoy a few favorite moments from the event!

Today we’re saying goodbye and thank you to Ellie, our OSU Dietetics Intern. Ellie has been a wonderful part of NNEMAP’s Wellness & Nutrition work, helping make fresh produce feel simple, approachable, and delicious.

Today she shared our Foodie Friday recipes featuring zucchini, yellow squash, tomatoes, black beans, and a creamy herb yogurt dip.

We are so grateful for your time, kindness, and care for our neighbors. Best wishes, Ellie! 🍅🥒

These real estate pros really know how to tackle big problems with such a great attitude! Two of the group spent 2 hours in this heat and humidity pulling weeds around our building! Others cleaned coolers and shelf units that get lots of activity 6 days a week. Then came restocking, creating bags and deliver boxes of shelf stable foods! Wow! Thanks to the Midtown Area Real Estate Group!

Charity Newsies Clothing Assistance Program Application Opens June 1st.
The Charity Newsies clothing assistance application will open on Monday, June 1 at 9:00 a.m. Families in need of clothing assistance will be able to visit www.charitynewsies.org to complete the application for clothing assistance beginning on Monday morning, June 1.
Charity Newsies centers its mission on making sure that children in need have clothing for school. Charity Newsies provides brand new clothing to children in need from families:
at or below 200% of the federal poverty level, from Kindergarten through twelfth grade ($64,300 for a family of four);
reside or attend school in Franklin County;
attend in person schools
Each child will receive a brand new clothing package valued at over $150 consisting of six pairs of socks, underwear for the week, a coat, hat, gloves and three shirts and three pants. Should the child attend a school with a dress code, dress code compliant clothing will be provided. Children attending schools with a uniform with a logo will receive a full clothing package along with a voucher to use at a local uniform store for the items requiring a specific logo. Children attending vocational programs will receive assistance for uniforms associated with their vocational programs as well.
