Last month, we provided food to 1,679 families. Behind that work are people who give their time to help neighbors bring food home.

There is a place for you in this work. This Hunger Action Month, do more than talk about hunger, give your time to serve up change.

A warm welcome.
A stocked shelf.
A helping hand.

Volunteers help make every shopping day possible at the Broad Street Food Pantry.💚

Thanks to the 6th graders at Jones Middle School for taking time to learn about our Pantry and why people need to come to a pantry for food. And a giant thank you for the food they donated - over 1000 pounds to help feed our neighbors in need. Thanks UA!

How much food can you grow in your own backyard? 🤔

For Guy Emmons, the answer is three-fifths of it.

What began as a way to enjoy fresh, organic tomatoes year-round has grown into a backyard full of fruits, leafy greens, and vegetables. Guy believes it's easier to make healthy choices when healthy food is growing right outside your door.🍅

And now, what grows in Guy's backyard makes its way to our Farmers Market, where neighbors can enjoy it, too!

Meet Guy and shop fresh, locally grown produce at our Farmers Market on Sunday, September 20, from 11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

Storm damage?

Council is teaming up with Team Rubicon, a veteran-led disaster response organization, to help our community recover from last week’s severe weather.

Starting this week, Team Rubicon volunteers will be in our city helping with cleanup and we need your help taking care of them.

Donations of the items listed on the graphic can be dropped off at the Fran Ryan Center during regular hours to support the volunteers working in our community.

Good news: the power is back on! 🎉

Our team is all hands on deck, cleaning up and restocking after the outage. We’ll be ready to welcome our neighbors back Monday, August 17 at 8:30 a.m.

Yesterday we celebrated Bevelyn's 10 year anniversary at BSPC. We should have taken more pictures - there were so many people there to share the celebration. Thanks, Bev, for your dedicated service.
