Welcome Back, Chef Ben! 👨‍🍳 We're excited to welcome back Ben Flores to the lineup for the 16th Annual Dishin' for Hunger!

An Alabama native who now calls Columbus home, Ben brings a flavorful blend of Italian-American, Mexican-American, and Gulf Coast Southern influences to his cooking. After working with the James Beard-nominated team at Chapman’s Eat Market, he now shares his expertise as a Culinary Instructor at The Ohio State University, helping train the next generation of hospitality professionals.

We're thrilled to have Ben back for another year of incredible food and community impact!

Meet Chef Stephen Hicks! 👨‍🍳 We're continuing our chef spotlight series with Stephen, a local culinary talent with 21 years of industry experience! From catering and hotels to managing a food truck and an assisted living facility, Stephen has built a diverse career in the food world.

When he's not in the kitchen, you'll likely find him riding his bike, camping, or spending time with his family. We're excited to have him join this year's lineup!

Meet Chef Danielle! 🧑‍🍳 A graduate of The Culinary Institute of America, Danielle has spent years cooking and working in the food industry, with experience ranging from chef and caterer to cheesemonger, barista, and culinary specialist. She’s cooked everywhere from Disney World to Nationwide Children’s Hospital and The Ohio State University.

When she's not cooking, you can find Danielle reading cookbooks, exploring the connection between food and language, or cooking at home with her husband, Jeff. They try not to critique each other too much! 😉

Together, we can fight period poverty.

We are excited to collaborate with The Undergraduate Black Caucus The Period Pantry Aunt Flow OH Coalition for Menstrual Equity OSUCOM Women In Medicine to host a donation drive in preparation for Period Action Day on October 10th! You can donate at the Venmo above!

All donations will be going to NSI Food Pantry andYWCA Columbus.

The drive will run from 9/10-10/7 and we will end with a packing party on 10/11. 🥳

Our Dishin' for Hunger chef lineup continues with Chef Liesl, a Midwest native whose culinary journey began in local restaurants before taking her to Chapman’s Eat Market in 2023. 👩‍🍳

Since then, she’s worked her way through the kitchen, taking on new roles and learning everything she can along the way. Now, she’s bringing that curiosity and passion for food to Gene’s in Dublin as their Sous Chef!

We can't wait to see what she creates for Dishin'! Come meet Liesl, taste her cooking, and get to know the chefs behind the dishes at Dishin' for Hunger.
