Join one of our highly praised classes with the amazing artist, Chris Cruz !

Have you wanted to try watercolor, but don’t know where to begin? Let Chris Cruz be your guide! Chris will provide you with hands-on experience on how to use watercolor paints, different painting techniques, and will teach you about watercolor brushes and paper. Supplies will be provided, but students are welcome to bring any supplies they already have.

This is a great course for anyone interested in exploring the watercolor medium.

No experience necessary!

8-30-2026 - The Eric Essix Group is back in the SONG theater!

The Shelby County Arts Council presents:

The Eric Essix Group LIVE in the Song Theater in Columbiana, AL! Join us for this special Sunday jazz matinee show! Eric Essix has released 29 full-length albums over a period of more than 32 years, maintaining a steady flow of new music that continues to push the boundaries of contemporary jazz. He has toured relentlessly with his own Eric Essix Group and with dozens of A-list artists as a sideman, constantly refining every aspect of his craft, with legacy always in the forefront. Following the success of his 2020 album "Songs From The Deep," Eric released STRiDE and My Heartbeat, his 28th and 29th albums on his Essential Recordings label. The albums were distributed by Lightyear Entertainment/Virgin Music.

Eric has topped the smooth jazz charts many times and this new material promises to be some of his best yet! Enjoy this show in one of the premier listening venues in the South! Space is limited, get your tickets now!

Today, this earthly world says goodbye to Dolly Parton. While we mourn her loss, we can appreciate the lasting impact Dolly has made on her time on Earth. Dolly was not only a musician and icon, but a shining light that influenced many artists throughout the decades. Thank you for imagining and creating a better world on and off the stage, and inspiring countless others to do the same. We will certainly miss you Dolly!

🎨😁Pick up a new hobby with our stained glass instructor Margaret Hague!🎨😁

🍊Our evening sessions are perfect for those that work during the day, students in class, or artist who would like to pick up a new art form. Not only do you have a choice for Mondays from 5:30-8 PM, you can also choose our Wednesday 5:30-8 PM sessions as well!

😁About the class:
Students will learn to create a beautiful stained glass window from a variety of different colored and textured glass. You will learn to cut the glass to fit in a design of your choosing and learn how to copper foil the pieces and solder them together. Students will then use lead came around the outside of the design to hold it all together. Students will be able to make pieces either 12×12″ or 14×14″. The instructor will provide patterns and tools. This is a great class for those starting out in stained glass or for students with some experience!

Bron Yr Aur, an acoustic tribute to Led Zeppelin. If you're a longtime LZ fan, this show is a must see. More than just a tribute show, these song performances are stripped back, making the genius of the original chord passages and lead lines stick out! The vocal tribute to Robert Plant by Jon Campbell (vocalist for BronYr Aur) is amazing! Stellar musicians, all the way around! Don't miss it!

This ticket package includes 1 (one) ticket to each of the following performances: Paul Thorn-September 11th, The Alabama Troubadours-October 30th, Act of Congress-November 13th, and Sean of the South- December 6th.

Also included in this package is one complimentary ticket to your choice of performance for our upcoming Theatre production of Steel Magnolias. You must let the office know which performance you plan on attending. Seating for Steel Magnolias is general admission.
