Owens House will be closed on Monday, October 12. 💙

We hope everyone enjoys a restful holiday and a wonderful start to the week spent with family, friends, and loved ones. Our team will reopen and resume normal operations on Tuesday, October 13, and we look forward to continuing to serve children and families throughout Shelby County.

💜 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

At Owens House, we see firsthand the impact that domestic violence can have on children and families. While every child's experience is unique, many of the children we serve have been exposed to violence, abuse, or unsafe circumstances that no child should ever have to endure.

This month, we stand with survivors, honor their strength and resilience, and recognize those who work tirelessly to support those affected by domestic violence. Owens House is proud to stand alongside these dedicated individuals and organizations as we work together to provide hope, healing, and support for children and families impacted by violence and trauma.

To those who have experienced domestic violence, please know that you are not alone. Your story matters, your experiences are valid, and healing is possible.

By raising awareness, supporting survivors, and strengthening the networks of care that serve them, we can help create a future where every child and family can live free from violence and fear. 💜

Owens House was proud to join the Shelby County Sheriff's Office for National Night Out. Our staff member, Reagan Story, and student intern, Lilly Anne, enjoyed spending time with families, meeting community members, and sharing more about the services and support Owens House provides throughout Shelby County.

Events like these remind us how important strong community partnerships are in creating safer, healthier environments for children and families. We are grateful to everyone who stopped by to say hello and to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office for hosting such a fantastic event.

We are incredibly grateful for the kindness and generosity of everyone who has purchased gingerbread houses from our Amazon Wishlist to support Operation Gingerbread House! Each donation represents more than just a gingerbread house. It is a thoughtful act of support that helps bring joy and creativity to our Multidisciplinary Team partners. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our community, only two gingerbread houses remain on our wishlist!

Thank you to each person, family, business, and community partner who has taken the time to give. Your generosity reminds us how fortunate we are to be surrounded by a community that cares so deeply.

For four years, Rhythm & Brews has been more than a fundraiser. It has been a celebration of community, generosity, and hope. As we reflect on this special event, we also find ourselves reflecting on the incredible partnership we've shared with Siluria Brewing Company since Rhythm & Brews began in 2022.

We are saddened to see Siluria Brewing close its doors, but we are deeply grateful for the impact they have made on Owens House and the Shelby County community. Their hospitality, support, and belief in our mission helped create an event that has brought people together year after year to support the children and families we serve.

To the owners, staff, and everyone who made Siluria Brewing such a welcoming place, thank you for opening your hearts and your space to our organization. The memories made, friendships formed, and support generated through Rhythm & Brews will continue to make a difference for years to come.

Want to make a difference with a simple donation? 💙

Small acts can mean so much. Every child and family who visits Owens House receives snacks and refreshments to help create a welcoming, comforting environment during their visit.

We're currently in need of:
🍪 Individually wrapped snacks
🧃 Juice boxes or pouches
💧 Bottled water

These everyday items are used regularly and help us continue providing care and support to the children and families we serve.
