Shelby Humane is partnering with Hallmark Subaru to provide the love and support every pet deserves.

According to the ASPCA, 5.8 million dogs and cats entered shelters and rescues in 2025, where many wait to find loving homes.
That’s why, as part of the Subaru Loves Pets initiative, Hallmark Subaru is providing our organization with direct funding, through a grant administered by the ASPCA, to help us cover essential costs for preparing animals for adoption, veterinary expenses, and more.

We will be partnering with Hallmark Subaru to host an adoption event in their showroom this Saturday, October 10 from 10am-1pm to help ensure that more of our amazing shelter pets can find loving homes within our community.

Come out and see us and find your new best friend!
Our list of dogs attending the event will be published later this week!

We’re at capacity and our animals need you. 🐾

Shelby Humane is currently at capacity, which means our kennels are full and we’re doing everything we can to care for the animals who are counting on us.

The best way you can help right now? Adopt. ❤️

There are wonderful dogs and cats waiting for families of their own — playful pups, sweet seniors, energetic companions and loving cats who would be so happy to leave the shelter and head home with you. 🏠

When you adopt, you’re not just changing the life of one animal. You’re also creating space for us to help another animal in need.

If you’ve been thinking about adding a furry friend to your family, now is the time. Stop by Shelby Humane, meet the animals and see if your new best friend is waiting for you. 💙

Meet Bonnie 🐾

🐶Bonnie is a sweet 7-year-old, 65-pound girl who came to the shelter on July 15.

💙She is calm, friendly and introvered. Her adoption fee has also been sponsored.

🏠She loves other dogs and is doing wonderfully in her foster home... but is really looking forward to meeting her forever family.

❤️‍🩹Bonnie is heartworm-positive, but the shelter covers the entire cost of treatment. She is available for foster during treatment and can be adopted once her treatment is complete.

Thank you Scouts!!

Back in June, Aaron reached out to Shelby Humane with an idea for his Eagle Scout project through Troop 532.

He developed the proposal, worked through the approval process with Shelby Humane and his troop leaders, and took the lead in turning his idea into a project that would make a real difference for our animals.

Last week, Aaron, his dad Mike, his mom Dee Dee, his brother Seth, and other members of Troop 532 and their families came out to Shelby Humane and made that idea a reality.

They built us all-new dog houses, gave our play yards a much-needed facelift, and rebuilt our agility equipment. And judging by the reaction from the dogs, the new accommodations have already received their official approval.

Aaron, we are especially grateful that you chose Shelby Humane for your Eagle Scout project and saw this idea all the way through. We truly appreciate the time, hard work, and commitment you, your family, and everyone from Troop 532 put into making Shelby Humane a better place for the animals we care for every day.

And most importantly...the dogs say thank you, too.

Meet our Pets of the Week!
🐱Disaronno

Adoption application: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SHAL/Cat

🐶 Raymond
He is quite the character! 😂 He has a silly personality and can struggle a little bit at times, but underneath it all is a sweet boy who desperately wants to be close to his human. ❤️
Raymond would do best with someone who has experience with dogs and understands canine behavior, and he would be happiest in a home without small children.
🐶He gets along with dogs who don’t challenge him. A female dog would likely be the best match, although he has done well with some male dogs too. A proper introduction is necessary when meeting potential doggy siblings.
🐾Raymond has been at the shelter since 6/29/2026 and is also battling heartworm disease. Thankfully, his heartworm treatment is completely paid for by the shelter. ❤️‍🩹 This goofy boy deserves someone willing to understand him, give him patience, and let him be the silly little goober that he is.
👉 Raymond is looking for a foster or forever family willing to give him that chance.
