Our mission is to promote arts and culture in and around Merriweather Post Pavilion and Columbia, MD.

Formed in 2013, the Downtown Columbia Arts and Culture Commission (DCACC) exists to help make Downtown Columbia a hub of artistic and cultural activities. We do this by supporting existing organizations, supporting new programming, and enhancing Merriweather Post Pavilion. In 2014 with the generous support of Howard County Government, the Commission joined with The Howard Hughes Corporation in Columbia to undertake a multi-year renovation of Merriweather Post Pavilion. As part of this agreement, the Commission will help oversee the pavilion's renovations and will begin offering expanded programming for the community at the venue. One of MACC's missions is to create fun and safe spaces for teens to be themselves and discover their artistic passions. Our events are created by the amazing Merriweather Teen Council, made up of hardworking Howard County students ages 14-19, and registration is now open for the 2026-2027 season!
