TOPIC: "Trauma Informed Care: A Patient Approach to Managing PTSD"

GUEST PRESENTER: - Melissa Gordon-Pitts SW
Founder and CEO of Core Health Counseling and the Assistant Director of Social Work at Duke University Hospital of Case Management where she oversees a team of 70 Duke University Hospital social workers who help patients overcome adjustment to illness, financial and psycho-social hurdles. She will be speaking to sickle cell warriors and caregivers about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) too often experienced especially in hospital settings.
