April 30, 2014 remains a milestone on the YSOP calendar. Looking back at this original graphic from 2014, it is incredible to see how far this vision has traveled. Twelve years ago, we hosted our first meet-and-greet on Facebook, and the response was historic. 😃

Looking Back at the Record:

-A Global Conversation: On that first International Jazz Day, 19 countries joined the "Live" conversation.

-Extended Reach: In the days that followed, that number grew to 22 countries as greetings poured in.

-YSOP History: Welcome reached a grand total of 24 countries across 5 continents participating through conversation, greetings, and video performances.

Today, in 2026, the founder if YSOP International, Tim Young, is still at it. 🤗 While the technology and platforms have evolved, the core mission of connecting musicians and young professionals across the globe remains the same. We are still dedicated to providing a space where a diversity of cultures can unite through the universal language of jazz.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey from the beginning, and to the new members continuing the legacy today.🙏🏾

What is life without a little risk?

Growth doesn’t come from playing it safe—it comes from stepping into the unknown with purpose.

Every opportunity you want… requires a decision you’re not 100% comfortable making yet. 💯

Take the step. Trust the process. Keep moving forward. 🚀
