Produced by Children's Trust of South Carolina This is a safe space to discuss all things parenting, including struggles, stories, questions, advice and more. We want everyone to be part of our community and have their voice heard. While we do moderate this community, we welcome open discussion. To help everyone enjoy our community, we ask that when you post or comment, you keep in mind the following:

Respect and civility: Operate with respect and courtesy and be civil and constructive. Don’t post any personal attacks, spam, self-promotion, harassment, po*******hy, hate speech or the like. Any comments that are defamatory, indecent, offensive, profane, discriminatory, misleading, unlawful or threatening are not tolerated. Obligation to protect: If you share information about a child in danger, we will contact the appropriate authorities and/or law enforcement. Legal issues: We will not respond to inquiries, especially those of a legal nature, about specific child custody, child abuse, child neglect or other cases. Those questions should be forwarded to the appropriate child advocacy organizations, state agencies, law enforcement or the courts. Strengths-based: Through proven protective factors, we know every family has strengths that when rooted can grow and make them stronger. The content published should help advance and build those strengths. By posting on SC Parents’ social media pages, you agree to the above community standards. Family Promise of the Midlands (FPM) helps families facing homelessness. 🤍 Through partnerships with local churches, they provide families with safe, temporary, home-like lodging, meals and essential needs. 🏠 Most importantly, families stay together because in other shelters, they may be separated.

🤝 The FPM staff helps parents get the knowledge and resources they need. They help caregivers with employment, medical care, child care, school placement and ultimately, affordable housing.

💵 They also provide financial assistance to families facing eviction and to students participating in activities such as athletics, music and art.

📍 FPM serves several counties, including Calhoun, Fairfield, Kershaw, Lexington, Orangeburg, Richland, Saluda and Sumter.
