Good evening everyone,

Just a reminder that we will be meeting tonight for Bible Study.

We’ll be walking through Mark 13:1–13, where Jesus prepares His disciples for the persecution and challenges that are coming. In what feels like a final season of intense instruction, He speaks with urgency and clarity—warning them about deception, trials, betrayal, and endurance.

In verse 10, He makes a powerful declaration: “And the gospel must first be preached to all nations.” Even in the middle of warnings about suffering, Jesus anchors everything in mission. The message must go forward.

Some of the key themes we’ll discuss tonight:

Being careful not to be led astray

Standing firm in the face of opposition

Trusting the Holy Spirit to speak through us

Enduring faithfully to the end

Keeping the mission central, even in uncertain times

These words were spoken to His first followers—but do those same warnings and instructions still apply to us today?G

Dear Bible Study Family,

Just a quick reminder that we will be meeting tonight at 7:00 PM EST to continue and complete our study of Mark 8:22–38. We’ll explore the richness of this passage together and look at how it speaks into our daily walk with Christ.

Here are three themes to keep in mind as you read and reflect before our time together:

Isolation with the Lord: Divine Encounters in Private Spaces

Why does Jesus pull people aside for healing or revelation? In Mark 8:22–26 (the blind man) and Mark 7:32–35 (the deaf-mute), we see Jesus lead individuals away from the crowd. There’s something intimate and purposeful about being alone with the Lord. It’s in these moments that transformation often happens.

Consider Exodus 3:1–4 (Moses at the burning bush), 1 Kings 19:9–13 (Elijah in the cave), and Genesis 32:24–30 (Jacob wrestling with God). God often removes distractions to bring clarity, healing, or calling.

Progressive Revelation and Spiritual Clarity

The blind man is healed in stages — first seeing “people like trees walking,” then seeing clearly. Likewise, Peter’s confession that Jesus is the Christ comes before he truly understands what that means (vv. 29–33). We'll discuss how God often reveals truth to us gradually, and what that means for our growth in faith.

The Cost of Discipleship

Jesus' call to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Him (vv. 34–38) is radical. What does it truly mean to lose our lives for His sake? How do we live this out daily?

Greetings Family
I just wanted to send out this email to let you know that we will be postponing our Tuesday night Bible Study from tonight and will resume on June 18, 2022. Due to work obligations, Memorial Day, my daughter's upcoming wedding and a business trip to New Orleans the next 4 Tuesdays will be tough in overseeing our virtual study together.
