Providing clear guidance for the next generation of leaders

10/06/2026

We’re excited to share a new fundraiser for Basic Bible Guide! ❤️📖

Our goal is to raise $12,000 to help us print and distribute more Basic Bible Guides, begin developing an audio version, and support the people working behind the scenes to grow our ministry and reach more people.

At our current printing cost, just $4 helps us produce one guide to put into someone’s hands.

Our mission has always been simple: to help anyone, regardless of their background, beliefs, or previous biblical knowledge, better understand the Bible.

Every donation—big or small—helps us reach the next person. And if you’re not able to donate, sharing this fundraiser helps more than you know!

Thank you for supporting BBG and helping us make the Bible easier to understand and more accessible. ❤️

# Daily Devotional 266 | Part 3 — "The Greatest Confession" ✝️
---
Last time, we paused to remember the agony and ridicule Jesus faced on His way to the cross. Today, we arrive at the turning point—the very moment Jesus laid down His life, and a Roman centurion made a bold proclamation.
---
**The world was never the same after Jesus breathed His last.**

At the ninth hour, Jesus cried from the cross—not out of surrender, but as the fulfillment of prophecy: *“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”* (Mark 15:34). In that cry, He took on all our guilt and sorrow.

Then, a miracle:
⚡ The temple’s curtain split from top to bottom.

A Roman soldier—no stranger to executions—stood in awe at the way Jesus died. He couldn’t keep silent:

“Truly this man was the Son of God!” — Mark 15:39

He didn’t doubt. He declared. Even in death, Jesus’ power was undeniable. 🙌
---
**The centurion’s words echo through time, inviting us to respond.**

If someone who witnessed the crucifixion firsthand could believe, how much more can we—who know the fullness of the resurrection?

Wherever you are on your spiritual path—asking questions, new in faith, or a lifelong follower—Jesus invites you to trust in Him.

💬 **Will you declare your faith today?**

👉 **Post your story below, or send us a message to take the next step.**

*“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”* — Ephesians 2:8-9
---
Let this truth bring you fresh hope. Jesus’ sacrifice opens the way for everyone—including you.

🙏 Don’t keep this good news to yourself—**SHARE this with someone who needs encouragement today!** ❤️

📖 **Daily Devotional 266 | Part 2 of 3 — The Walk to the Cross**

This morning, we paused at the suffering and scorn Jesus experienced. Our journey continues — from the soldiers’ ridicule to the path that leads to Calvary. 🕊️

**From Humiliation to Sacrifice**

After the mockery, the soldiers removed the purple robe, dressed Jesus in His own clothes, and led Him out to be crucified. *(Mark 15:20)*

Pause for a moment and imagine this scene.

Jesus, restored to His own garments, walked forward with quiet strength. He didn’t fight back or defend Himself. Every single step He took was a deliberate act of love — for you, for me, for all.

**The Turning Point at the Cross**

*"And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, 'Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?' — 'My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?'"* *(Mark 15:34)*

In that darkest moment, Jesus bore our sin, experiencing separation from the Father. The temple curtain was torn from top to bottom *(Mark 15:38)* — forever opening the way between God and humanity.

A Roman centurion, witnessing it all, proclaimed:
**"Truly this man was the Son of God."** *(Mark 15:39)*

💬 **Where does your faith rest today? Is it anchored in Jesus alone?
This is the essence of the gospel:

👉 *"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God — not a result of works, so that no one may boast."* (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Salvation is a gift — received, not earned.

🙏 Take a quiet moment to thank Jesus for every step He took on the road to Calvary — each step was for you.

⏭️ **Stay tuned for Part 3** as we look ahead from the darkness of the cross to the hope that triumphs. You won’t want to miss it.

❤️ **Share this devotional — encourage someone’s faith today.**

Welcome to Daily Devotional 266, Part 1 of 3.

# 📖 The Mocking of Jesus — Mark 15:17-20

“Hail, King of the Jews!” — They Said It to Ridicule, Not Revere. 👑

Picture the scene: Jesus, innocent and pure, is mocked, struck, and spat upon by Roman soldiers. In **Mark 15:17-20**, they twist together a painful crown of thorns and force it onto His head. They throw a purple cloak over His shoulders — not to honor Him as king, but to scorn and shame Him. They kneel and pretend to worship, sneering as they do.

Yet, Jesus endured it all — not because He had to, but because He loves us.

What was meant as an act of humiliation became, in God’s plan, a symbol of sacrificial love. The crown of thorns, meant for ridicule, points us to the depth of Christ’s compassion. 💜

Have you ever felt shamed or rejected? Jesus knows exactly how that feels. He didn’t just watch our struggles from afar — **He entered into our suffering and pain.**

🙏 *Take a quiet moment to reflect: The King of Kings allowed Himself to be mocked and beaten — out of love for YOU.*

💬 **How does this truth shape the way you see your own hardships today? Share your reflections or stories — you never know who might need encouragement!**

👉 Check back soon for Part 2, where we’ll walk with Jesus to the cross.

🔁 **SHARE this with someone who needs hope today!** ❤️

As we all navigate OUR OWN life's journey, WHILE observing and interacting WITH OTHERS lives;
I hope we all would also strive to default to this:
"Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must do."
Colossians 3:12–13

Our founders old neighbors (of 15 years) two doors up John and Sally who came and introduced themselves when we first moved in and were great Christian neighbors.
Well, John just told him Sally died Wednesday and he is living by himself for the first time in 60 years.
And he has adult kids who we've met and are wonderful Christian people.
I think this is God's design that parents love & take care of the kids when they're young and the kids love and take care of their parents when they're old.
P. S. I'll put things in perspective, we recently celebrated our grandson's 6th birthday.
Love & blessings to you all!!!
