This week, nearly 175 people aboard a flight bound for Tel Aviv came frighteningly close to tragedy.

After the captain was stabbed in the cockpit and the plane began a dangerous descent, courageous passengers and crew stepped forward, subdued the attacker, and helped regain control of the aircraft. Despite being seriously wounded, the captain reportedly managed to unlock the cockpit door, allowing others to intervene.

In moments of crisis, courage matters. So does the willingness of ordinary people to step forward and protect innocent life.

We are grateful that so many lives were spared, and we pray for the captain’s full recovery, for the passengers and their families, and for the continued protection of the people of Israel.

Dolly Parton’s life showed that influence is about far more than fame.

Through her extraordinary kindness, unwavering work ethic, and deep love for others, she demonstrated that the greatest legacy we leave is found not only in what we accomplish, but in how we serve.

She also spoke openly about her faith in God, the importance of prayer, and the enduring value of family. Her nearly 60-year marriage to her beloved husband, Carl Dean, reflected a remarkable commitment to lasting love before his passing in 2025.

Her story reminds us that some of life’s most meaningful legacies aren’t measured by accomplishments or recognition, but by faithfulness, a generous spirit, and the love we pour into our families and those around us.

It is hard to believe a year has passed since Dr. James Dobson went home to be with the Lord. We miss him deeply.

And yet, we are profoundly grateful that his counsel is still with us.

We can still hear his unmistakable voice reminding parents that the years with their children pass far too quickly. We can still listen as he encourages husbands and wives to fight for their marriages. We can still share his unwavering defense of Biblical truth and the family.

Dr. Dobson spent his life investing in generations he would never meet. Today, we have the privilege of carrying that work forward.

On this first anniversary of his passing, we thank God for the life of Dr. James Dobson—and for a legacy that continues to speak into homes, strengthen families and point people to Jesus Christ.

What kind of society celebrates the loss of its most vulnerable children?
